yep the higher you climb the harder you fall. you can't just up and "walk away" from it all without being a pariah in your community that gets looked at funny...so suicide or death become the only option for a lot of wealthy people that feel "consumed" by or trapted in a lifestyle that feels like a hamster wheel. i'm not rich i'm comfortable and i'd never kill myself....but their are days i wish i could up and leave everything behind and do some "eat pray love" trekk in the mountains Thailand type shyt and just leave everything behind.
:whew:

I feel that. Ideally I'd just live up in a cabin somewhere in the mountains and not bother myself with the lifestyle that some of my money hungry relatives live.

It's a whack lifestyle that a lot of these mega rich live... hanging out with people you don't care about, keeping up a false image, etc. :whew:

The key imo is to chase the success, rather then the paper or the lifestyle

I really question the actual income of the people saying money can make you happy. And perhaps even the intelligence. The discussion is not if money can make you happier...the question is, can money make you happy. There's a difference. Most people in the world have some sort of problems rooted in a lack of money and of course money can solve those problems. But all people have problems which have nothing to do with money. Not most. All. And the solution of most to those problems can't be solved with money. If you lose a parent, who cares how much money you have? All it does is make it easier to set up the funeral.

I've studied affluent people. I even know a few and the one word which frequently comes up is comfort. Money creates comfort, not happiness.

:dead: So you dont have money but your stunting like you do :what: I have real money and i never said you shouldnt have money or accept being broke. My problem is with people thinking ALL their problems will go away if they get paid.

And for the record, I have more money then you, and a nicer place then you and I COULD blow 10 racks in a day but why would I do that :why:

you aren't lying. esp when you don't want to be bothered but have to because you're obligated either via family..business etc

i see why so many of them go off the deep end.

These lames bringing up millionaires offing themselves. What about the millions of poor folks who purposely put themselves in dangerous situations. You think these nikkas are happy? They dont care about life.

I can relate, the last 8 months of me owning the club was the worst, I had 42 people I was employing and I was stressed and depressed as fukk, I remember actually finding $3000 in a plastic bag in the trunk of my car that i had forgotten for 2 months, thats how much money I was making and I basically walked away from it and have never regretted it.....

I think everyone needs a purpose or a passion in life....you need a reason to get up in the morning, thats why these billionaires still get up to go to the office even though the money they are making will make zero difference to their lives...

The Club industry wasnt my passion it was something I fell into and after the initial fun and games it was just about the money, then it reached a point where even the money wasnt worth it for me...

I've been up and down several times but every time I was riding high were also the best times I ever had.

I've been shopping in high end stores not even looking at price tags:smugbiden:

I've also been in dollar stores looking for bargains:lolbron:

Always seem to have more women at me when money is not an issue, more laughs and smiles and overall just happier.

For me, this money can't buy happiness saying is:shaq2:

Your thoughts.
Matthew 6:24

No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

i understand completely... :wow: if the passion isn't there or you've "lost" the passion (which can happen as well) even the money as quickly as is rolls in can seems meaningless. i know that won't make sense to most "money > everything" mentally people on here. i guess you just have to have exprienced it to understand it...

1 Timothy 6:10

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

Matthew 6:19-21

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Proverbs 13:22

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the sinner's wealth is laid up for the righteous.

Proverbs 13:11

Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.

Ecclesiastes 5:10

He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity

Proverbs 30:8-9

Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me, lest I be full and deny you and say, “Who is the Lord?” :whoo: or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God. :whoo:

yup... having that "so this is it?" feeling is the worst.....

from a personal point of view Ive always believed ignorance is bliss....and part of me envies people with that mindset.....I hate the fact that I find it hard to be content with surface things so to speak....I think If all I were concerned with was having a nice house and car, nice clothes and lots of money my life would have been more straightforward

Unfortunately Ive always been one of those "there must be more to life" kind of dudes....its like you master something and then the next thing you are looking for the next challange

C/S. Money does not make you happy. It an empty and hollow feeling you get. People worship money but in the end it really does increase your happiness. Happiness within yourself is the only way.
