LOL. Most of slaves in Louisiana and Mississippi were from Virginia.

They were literally separating families by selling mothers and fathers to plantations in the deep South. You never read "Uncle Tom's Cabin?"

You're wasting your time my brother.

I'm telling you that's not true and I'm a true blue Louisiana negro on both sides
Broah. You don't have to believe me. Just read up on the Louisiana Purchase. 1803 is when the USA acquired Louisiana, as well as Mississippi, western Alabama, West Tennessee (which is where my folks are from) and bunch of flyover country. That is what opened up the deep South (save Georgia and South Carolina) to slavery and a new crop of choice which was cotton. That is why slaves in the early 1800s were sold from the mid South (Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky) into the deep South (Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana).

Take a DNA test. If you are an African American you are going to find out that your family has been in the USA 400+ years, but they have only been in Louisiana for about 200 of those years. Where were they before in the othe 200 years? In the mid South.

I see. Apparently you can not convince some Black people in Louisiana and Mississippi that their people had not been in slavery in those States for even 60 years, but that their folks had been in slavery in Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee for hundreds of years. I mean that man could just go to his family reunion this Summer and ask the old people where their family was originally from in slavery.

You forget my ancestors were occupied by 3 slave colonies. And most of the imported slaves came from Haiti, West African directly and the Caribbean through the Port Of New Orleans. I could be very wrong. But I'm pretty sure I'm not and if I'm wrong I stand corrected :hubie:

A LOT of slaves were bought in Virginia and New Orleans. My ancestors, on my pop’s side were bought in Richmond, Virginia but were dispersed elsewhere as gifts. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of people were bought and kept/trafficked locally

Alright this is my last response. I am sorry, but you are wrong. The Black people in Louisiana are almost all from the mid -South in the United States. They are not from Haiti. While some French slave owners brought slaves to the USA after the Haitian Revolution, they didn't bring that many; and by 1808 the USA had banned the direct importation of slaves from Africa and the Caribbean which is why slaveowners that purchased land in Louisiana and Mississippi had to buy all of their slaves from slave owners in the mid-South. I have been posting sources throughout this thread to prove this point, but if you still doubt it then at you next family reunion find the oldest people there and ask them where did their families originally come from during slavery.
