Nah, Bogut is elite, he was second behind Gobert in regards to opponents FG% at the rim.
I stand corrected

DeAndre Jordan's rim protection stats are far from elite though, they were actually worse than Robin Lopez.
This wherr you need to make a decision between eye test and stats. Andbody thats been watching the clips, specifically in the playoffs sees that jordan is an anchor in the paint. Gobert has favors, bogut has green, but jordan has blake dumbass helping him. Those other big just have better team defense than what jordan is getting

You mean the same Favors that was playing with Kanter and was 26-28th in the league defensively before the Stifle Tower got minutes?

Can't have it both ways, the Jazz were better defensively when Gobert was playing regardless of who he was paired with. Also, you don't seem to realize there are guys ahead of Jordan in rim protection that play with guys on par with Blake defensively. Jordan is in no way shape or form an elite defender, if you're watching him and think he's elite defensively you may need to get your eyes tested.

Deandre Jordan is a dummy w/ below avg bball iq. The hen he has to guard his man, he's usually lost amd constantly out of position as he was the majority of the Hou series. And the Spurs sh1t on him too.

He's a crutch more than an anchor. He cleans up mistakes, but he makes his share of mistakes that negates the good he brings. He's in no way worth 20mil per season.

Exactly. He's not a good rim protector at all. Hes a super athletic, long-limbed moron. He's nice helpside blocks and occasionally times his blocks well, but he's not an elite defender from an IQ perspective. It's a shame too because he has a really likable personality. When you've been in the league this long, you're 6'11-7' and you're still fouling jumpshooters half your size, and touching balls pause that are going in the hoop, and bricking all of your freethrows, you're a really flawed player.

Interior cant stop a player like Curry or Harden from dropping 50

Perimeter D is way more important
This. The perimeter defense is the first layer of defense that set the traps, and play the passing lanes. Moreover, some great perimeter defenders also made many great stops at the paint. In today league, no teams can strive in the league with a perimeter defense no matter how strong the interior.

no its not. rim protection is far more important because most teams simply cant score as well from the perimeter. curry and harden are unique, once in a lifetime type players.

They were just examples. That could be said about any good perimeter player. Kyrie, Klay, Harden, Curry, CP3, KD ect

Perimeter defense is just as important as interior defenders.
The reason great interior defenders are more hyped is because there is only so many truly elite rim protectors.
Guys that can block shots and change shots at the rim, while still being good enough offensively that the coach can keep them in the game

Meanwhile, as far as perimeter defense, you can only "stand out" so much. Yes there is a few guys (Leonard, Allen) that play outstanding perimeter defense and they get their proper recognition
But your average NBA player isn't so horrible on perimeter D that he hurts the team greatly and better NBA players are only so much better at perimeter D, that they dont make a huge diff.

Meanwhile, interior D, as we saw with Enes Kanter, if you're bad at it, you're REALLY bad.

EDIT: it's kind of hard to explain and i hope ppl will get what I mean. There is a word that kind of applies here but I can't remember. It's kind of like the "standard deviation" between an average and great perimeter Defender is much smaller than the one between an Average rim protector and a great one.

We don't have any wing defenders though breh. CP3 holds it down some but cats are runnin' right past JJ Redikk, Matt Barnes, and Jamal Crawford. DJ would look a little better if we had some athletic wings instead of small azz shooters.

That boy Hudson looked solid on defense. He needs to get more burn next season
