Wheter they are classics or not putting out 4 or 5 dope albums in a row 30 years in the game is unprecedented in hiphop and should be commended

Nas is the only artists held to the standard of his first album which is arguably the best hiphop album ever and anything less then that is somehow a failure

He’s not making a Illmatic or It was Written anymore people need to get over it and just appreciate him somehow still making some dope music after all these years
Yes, you put it perfectly be deserves to be commended—-however a lot of nggas don’t understand where that starts and stops. Ie one ngga said ‘Hitboy is coming for greatest producer of all time title’ :comeon:

Not everyone is properly balancing quality vs quantity.

Thankful af for these albums :whoa: but almost every album ages the same once the hype dies down. Lot of great songs…but a LOT of skips.

Nas type of rapping don't fit hitboys beats yea it be some.good stuff there but not exactly classic hip-hop replay.value type stuff so the mid label is pretty accurate...there's lack of soul in those beats

KD2 and 3 and Magic are full of classic Hip Hop stuff some of Nas best ever tracks, you dudes just be saying anthing.

Loading screen beats is crazy :laff:

Everyone knows I’m not the biggest Hit-Boy fan but he has given Nas some fire shyt

Kings Disease (intro)
Blue Benz
Ultra Black
The Cure
EPMD
Rare
Store Run
Moments
Nobody
No Phony Love
Nas is Good
Speechless
Meet Joe Black
40-16 Building
Wu for the Children
Dedicated
Ghetto Reporter
Legit
Thun
Michael and Quincy
30
Recession Proof

Reminisce
WTF SMH (specially the beat switch)
First Time
Don’t shoot
Office Hours
Black Magic (seems people don’t like this, but I like the piano)
Motion
Slow it Down

In my opinion the above are all 8-10 level beats

His other joints to me are like 5-7 and that’s where he loses me.

A man of many talents but unfortunately, a master of none.

Fixed. And brother you just listed less than half the songs. That’s not good! Which you seem to agree with @ bold

I’m old school if you drop a 16 song album and 8 tracks are fire—- that’s a bad album! Not saying any of these are bad albums, but Hit boy can be frustrating you never know if you gone get good Hit or bad Hit. And you kinda know there’s no quality control. If there’s a wack beat neither of them is gonna catch it :pachaha:

Again, grateful for the music! But FIVE albums with Nas and you don’t have any classics and a ton of filler

Hit Boy is his new Salaam Remi. Halfway kidding. Nas is doing what’s best for Nas. I don’t have a problem with it. They should actually be considered a group at this point.

So many ‘older’ rappers in the later part of their careers would have been better served linking up with one producer and making solid projects for their fans. Instead a lot of those guys blew their budgets chasing radio play and trends and still didn’t get anything to add value to their catalogues.

And then you have guys that just don’t put out music at all or when they do they completely cheap out on beats and effort.

This and Alchemist has become the new premo

And in both Hit and Salaam's case they still gave Nas fire shyt until people started thinking Nas could flow with other producers and put out this workrate of rapping

Scratching out 40-16 Building, Cure, Blue Benz and Michael & Quincy is nuts

Yall really not trying to hear Nas on shyt like this anymore? :dahell: bet let me just stay quiet cause we obviously caught up in the moment, all praises to Hit for bringing Nas out that SLUMP and making TRULY modern classics but we need Nas on Pete Rock and Alchemist a few more times God. I personally dont think Premier has it like that anymore so if I want to hear Legacy Nas Im going for those two. Especially Pete tho

All the videos linked are recent too no super old school shyt neither, this sound could still fit Nas in 2024

For all the criticism HB gets for his mixing The Art Of It is mixed TERRIBLY. It's a dope concept to flip Uptown Anthem but the execution was off.

Nas Stans :pachaha:

You come in here to mention Nas stans like a fruity groupie, when anyone who believes Nas hasn’t had a good album of beats since Illmatic is delusional or maybe a rhythm less.....

I fukked with the Art of It on LT 2 played it a lot in 2019.:mjlit:...that was shyt was also hella distored and unmixed and I KNOW motherfukkers would kill Pete for only giving Nas just a loop of the opening of Uptwon Anthem...matter of fact I saw it when the reviews came in :mjcry:
The QB Poltiics beat appearently was cookd in 1990 and is cool but very very basic

It Never Ends I found to be a little boring. If Al's gonna give him stuff it cannot be this
Glorious is cool but nothing to write home about.

Al is gonna have to give him something serious if they ever worked and I can already tell you budget wise he'll have stretch (also He doesnt fukk with Peter from Mass Appeal)

Nas has tons of good albums with good production

Does he have some mediocre beats/albums sure so does everyone

The people who say this id bet anything haven’t listened to much Nas outside of his hits

They aren’t interested in the truth they’re interested in pushing an agenda

nikkas ain't telling the truth enough

Guy used It's Almost Dry and 4:44 as standards that Hit-Boy hasn't reached. Not even DAYTONA. :mjlol:

I'm starting to think people are low-key annoyed that Hit-Boy was the one that produced five albums for Nas in three years. They might not hate him, but he's not their champion. Alchemist is or Premier or Madlib or whoever. All great producers, legends even, but it burns people up that Nas has spent so much time with one producer and it's none of them. In their mind, they're thinking, "Hit-Boy? Really? The 'nikkas in Paris' guy, him? He's okay, but...........Hit-Boy?! :scust:"

There's always going to be a narrative that surrounds Nas. People aren't impressed by his music with Hit-Boy anymore. They've deluded themselves into thinking all their songs sound the same to make them feel better about their opinions. Now, the criticism will be that he doesn't work with anyone else and his sound hasn't evolved. If you're on top for too long, people get sick of you and want you gone. The dominance irritates them.
Just speaking for myself, I got nothing against Hit Boy. I am actually checking for more of his other stuff because of the Nas connection. He is a dope producer.
But I just want some variety, is that too much to ask? I'm not even picking for Nas just work with some other people just to change it up some.
I'm a HUGE Nas fan, I think he's the best dude to ever pick up a mic and MC and it's not that close. But I gotta admit after KD 2 I'm less and less excited each release. I thought Magic was a step down from KD 1 & 2, KD 3 was a resurgence but not to the level of KD 2 and Magic 2 is probably my least favorite of the run.
Also, Nas was known for long breaks and I liked that. It makes you miss the artist and more interest in their next release. Flooding the market with Hit Boy is having the opposite effect on me.
