Agreed, heads always seem to skip that over and go with the Illmatic was his last SOLID album argument (Until Stillmatic) but that album had some HEAT on it front to back. That might be my fave Nas album personally.
BTW I liked Pete and a lot of his beats but he just comes off as a bitter a$$hole nowadays... He has some serious grudges he seems to hold. I remember when CL Smooth was at odds with him saying just make my beats fa**ot in some interview, classic shyt
Pete Rock is a full on weirdo. Not just for his Nas takes but some of the strange outright bizarre shyt he used to post on social media and how almost EVERYONE whose worked with him extensively has at one point been fed up with him. Pete ain’t all the way there.
Probably best for both Nas and Hit Boy to just ignore him. He seems like the type that just wants attention. Why he’s always seemed so fixated with Nas i don’t know, but dude be off his rocker
