Blasphemous. Hit-Boy is hip-hop’s current MVP.

Didn’t mean to cross out Cure, but yea some of them shyts is terrible breh :bryan: Like bruh, EPMD?!? E P M D we back in businesss :pachaha:Or, W T F O M G :laff:

Those songs are a prime example: those beats are not for Nas. Like what type of beats do cats think we be taking bout all these years with ‘Nas picks bad beats’. That’s them. You know it a mile away. He does not sound good over over produced corny type beats. And there’s a LOT of beats like that. That’s where Hitboy differs from Alc, Madlib, No ID etc. Hit boy’s background is different he’s not straight classic hip hop. So the plus to that is his style isn’t redundant he takes chances, he will give you outside the box joints like Abracadabra or a 5 heartbeats sample :banderas: But it also means he’s capable of a lot of misses
If you were an EPMD fan, you would understand and appreciate that.
1. Pete Rock is entitled to his opinion

2. So am I

3. Hitboy >>>>>> Pete Rock

I really don't get how people can listen to Speechless, Store Run, Rare, The Truth, The Pressure, Nobody, Office Hours, Thun, Legit, Michael & Quincy, 27 Summers, The Cure, etc. and think Hit-Boy is an uninspired producer.
Get Light is :ahh:
And I stopped following Pete Rock on Instagram a year ago. nikka posts like a 16 year old girl

The year 3030
First off dude is a CAC so I don't usually care about his opinion on this but since we're here. Hitboy has done a great job with Nas over these 5 albums. Show me another rapper that has 5 albums full with just one producer that sounds as good as these have?
would gang starr count?

Nope. All up on EPMD, song still trash. The message/lyrics can be as great as it wanna be but if the production ain’t at least passable it’s a bad song.

And the irony of Em being on it bc I’m pretty sure most agree he can spit his ass off yet still drop some terrible music

EPMD WE BACK IN BUSINESSSSS :bryan: Song is ass

New Pete Rock Production..lmaoo

Yall want Nas on this shyt?

Nygga still doing them tired as "woooooo adlibs

This beat is dope. I don't see current Nas on it, but put Lupe or Rome Streetz on it and it's damn near a classic.
The dust heads would rejoice but the jokes other people would do if Nas was on them xzylophone beats would be :mjcry:
I don't think Daringer and Nas is a pairing that needs to happen, but... xylophone beats? Daringer? The guy who famously uses piano samples almost exclusively? Did you think you could just get away with making shyt up about people you've clearly never listened to? If you're going to shyt on one producer to prop up another, at least pretend like you know what you're talking about.
If he agrees with whoever posted, I don't think that dumb. There are a lot of people who aren't feeling Nas working with Hit for mad albums. Pete isn't the only one, lol. So if he agrees with dude, I don’t see the problem with that.

Back in 2000, he said he didn't understand why rappers would want to rap over a beat from Swizz. LOL!! He has his opinions. I don’t have an issue with people speaking on what they think is wack. That's literally what the culture was built on. Speaking to what you think works and doesn't. Nobody got sensitive over that before. Can't start now. MC's and producers have always openly done that. I can't condemn something that's a part of the culture just because Pete is doing it on social media and it's about producer who Nas likes. This is Hip Hop.
I think Pete Rock is the greatest of all time, and he's one of my biggest influences when it comes to production, but the guy has a serious screw loose beyond just giving his opinion. I agree with all of your posts so far.... but Pete Rock does need to shut the fukk up sometimes. I had to stop following him on social media because he's toxic as fukk. Incredible producer, shytty human being.

Pete Rock has been a cringy and crusty ass dude on social media for years and this isn't surprising.

That said, at his absolute very best, Hit Boy has never created anything like The Main Ingredient or Soul Survivor. He has no instant classic beat like TROY or World Is Yours. The notion that Hit Boy is somehow better than him, is wild.

Nas music is always extremely divisive, and I like what Hit and him have done. Let's just not get crazy here...

KD2 can stand up against any of those albums in fact it’s better than most of the albums you named, you sound like a basement dwelling hipster, Piñata Bandana aren’t better albums than KD3 or 2 and neither is 4.44 but I get why some of you would say this because these albums (Piñata and Bandana) are the epitome of white hipster 2000 boom bap ‘Nas hasn’t had a good album since Illmatic’ yelling rhetoric.
Just because hipsters have coopted Madlib as "their own" doesn't allow you to just make that statement like it's a fact. The music exists independently of all that

Also Nas has more white hipster fans than Freddie Gibbs and Madlib put together, squared lol

He's not Sauce Walka or some hood phenomenon. His shows are still 90% whites 30 and up
