Let me just remind you cats who Jake Locker is....

• he was drafted as the 8th overall pick in the 2011 draft
• in a college game, he once went 4 for 20, with 71 yards and 2 interceptions
• in the last game of his college career he went 5 for 16
• he had a college record of 10 - 21
• The only thing you need to know about his NFL career is that he was benched by a QB from LSU (nuff said)

But this nikka has potential? When you're a 6ft + white qb the sky is the limit

There is a difference between QBs who are good because of their mobility and QBs whose mobility complements their NFL-level passing ability

The latter is draftable, the former is not.

yeah but those would come to a pure pocket passer as well. Kap never puts himself in unnecessary danger when running, unlike RG3. He's like Russ in that regard, always sliding or getting out of bounds.

A dumb qb is a dumb qb, whether a pure pocket passer or mobile. Russ, Luck and Rogers are all mobile qbs who are highly intelligent, but their mobility is a large component of their success. I still think mobile qbs in the way the league is going. Look at all the up and coming qbs in college, not many of them are pure pocket passers. In fact, I would say that archetype is dying. With the way pass rushers are going beast in this day and age, qbs need to have the ability to move the pocket or escape pressure to succeed. Reading defenses and going through progressions is obviously still an integral component of quarterbacking, but qb mobility is becoming a needed and appreciated trait in this league.

The blueprint is out there for people to see. Cam has one of the strongest arms to ever enter the NFL. However, the issue is between his ears.

The system that they play in forces them into this predicament. Make one read or maybe two, if it isn't there, run. Alabama just won a game where they gave up 44 points and 630 yards. Damn near everyone is open in college. The windows are much smaller in the pro game and you are forced to make your progressions. If you are in a pro style system, it helps you greatly because you do everything, just in limited doses. In college, they aren't caring about developing because for the most part, they have a system. Most of these QBs are system QBs
