@STAN JONES Ravens are not going to let Ellerbe hit FA...

Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun reported Friday the Ravens remain in talks with Ellerbe's camp and are expected to make the linebacker a significant offer before Tuesday's deadline.

Dannell Ellerbe reportedly in line for big Ravens offer - NFL.com

Also Miami is going to go hard after Mike Wallace. Along with the vikings...

NFL.com's Jeff Darlington reported Wednesday that "Plan A" for the Dolphins includes a wideout group of Hartline, Davone Bess and Mike Wallace. The Dolphins know Wallace will cost a lot (probably more than what Bowe received from the Kansas City Chiefs) and they sound ready to spend.

According to Darlington, the Dolphins' offseason plan "all starts" with bringing Wallace aboard (seriously, check out the piece). It sounds like they are willing to do it at nearly any cost. The Dolphins also expect the Minnesota Vikings to join the bidding for Wallace (which might make Percy Harvin available in a trade. Spicy). But the Dolphins don't sound interested in wide receiver Greg Jennings, Darlington writes.

I don't think anyone would trade a first for Cruz. But the Rams aren't bringing Amendola back, they could trade that 22nd pick for him :yeshrug:

I don't think anyone will trade for Cruz either when all is said and done(That was agent leak to Rap). But if a team does, like you say the Rams are the best bet with 2 ones in this years draft...

:rejoice:

Ozzie the gawd will not let you guys down. He got flacco locked up on a cap friendly deal. He will get Ellerbe locked up during the FA Tampering period. Then he will looked to ED with what is left over, on a one or two year deal at the start of FA...

ED does not have a agent, so technically he is not allowed to participate in the NFL tampering period(he can not negotiate a contract till tuesday with teams outside of the Ravens). Per CBA rules..

yea its gonna be interesting to see what Ozzie does this offseason

after cutting Bobbie Williams today we are 12 under the cap and still need to sign Ellerbe & Reed plus we got 11 picks in the draft

we need a LT bad but hopefully we can trade up for one of the top 3 tackles in the draft.

Don't forget, you guys are going to get a huge addition in Lardarius Webb coming back from his knee injury. Who IMHO was the second best CB(next to Revis) in the game before his injury...

Wish we could of seen a full year of Kruger and a healthy Suggs. I would prefer he not go to Cleveland or Indy though. It would also be nice to get Mckinnie back for another year if they can.

Ya, Kruger going to the Browns would be a bytch for you guys. But honestly, I think Kruger is a bit overrated and more a product of Pees(one of the most overlooked DC's in the game) system..

I kinda agree, I think he also benefited a lot from having Suggs opposite from him as well. With that said pass rushers are tough to find and develop. I was hoping we could have a 1-2 tandem like Freeny/Mathis or Harrison/Woodley. Hopefully Mcphee/Upshaw can fill the void with sacks. I know that ain't Upshaw's forte but I'd be nice if him and Mcphee can generate at least 8-10 between the two of them.

P.S. Are the Pats gonna keep Talib and what are they going to do at corner? Also how likely are they to go at Reed I know they got young safeties in Mccourty and Chung (Gregory's not too old either)?

Ya, that's the rub when you have a great DE with the likes of Suggs. The question is does he make the other guys better or not. The good thing for you guys, is you have Ozzie and Eric DeCosta. Who are excellent personal man.

As to the Pats DB situation. Chung is gone, and that is heart breaking. I am still baffled at his decline. He was the second coming of Rodney Harrison in his first two years. Then injuries and bad angles did him in. Honestly, it makes no sense to me his decline.

CB is a problem. But if Dennard can escape Jail time we should be alright. McC is truly a great free safety. I am still hoping Ras I Dowling breaks out this year. Or at least stays healthy for a game or 2...

Reed, the Pats will likely make a offer, but they will not bid up the price for the Ravens. Belichick's connection with the ravens front office, and his sense of the history of the game(A player staying with one team his whole career) will make him tread lightly..

Also, Greg Bedard came onto PatsFans forums the other day and basically said that the Safety situation was a low priority for the Pats. He said that it might be a smoke screen. But for all intensive purposes the Pats would roll with Tavon Wilson and McC at safety next year. And that the depth at that position was not a need(This did not go over well).

Bedard...

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england...hon-goldson-aqib-talib-page4.html#post3388953

That was before I came across more information at the combine (I may not have an answer one day, but I'm always working to find those answers). I was told they are going forward with McCourty and Wilson. But I couldn't tell if it was a smokescreen or not so they could lay in the weeds for another safety. Always a possibility. But that's what I was told.

I don't disagree with that, and like I said, I may have been smoke screened. But I don't think so.

When you look at the laundry list of needs on this team (WRs, CBs, backups all along OL, 3rd DE, DT) when you look at the depth chart -- something I'll do for Tuesday -- safety is well, well down the list. They have four. And I don't think they're bringing in anybody else unless other things fall through and there's good value.

As to Talib who knows. It was leaked recently that he was not putting in work, and was a odd bird. Which means that Pats where doing the classic pats, we do not negotiate in the press by negotiating in the press. And trying to suppress his value. So they are mos def in talks with him and want him back. just at a incentive based contract.

Most Pats fans know when contract talks are going on with how leaks and ownership talks. When Karft did not praise Brady during the SB, and basically said that it takes to side etc for deals. Pats boards lit up that the Pats and Brady where in contract talks. And it came true.

I would put em 1 or 2 free agent as well though. Simply for the fact there's not alot of Defensive ends available, and there's lots of teams who need a DE pass rush and have cap room. U got Jennings, wallace and welker avail, helping to dilute the wr market. jake long, andre smith, levitre, thus diluting the tackle market. Kruger cn only play in a 3/4 rush spot. Avril is the top real DE available, thus making him the num1 target by alot of tms that need pass rush and have cap room. I can see, ATL and Sea goin hard for em.

i dont understand your logic.Having 3 good WRs and Tackles available dilutes the market but having 2 passer available makes them more valuable? :leostare:

and Kruger is actually better off playing left end in a 4-3 scheme...hes not an every down player as a 3-4 backer

Peter King is garbage. He is the embodiment of white privilege and that WASP makes me sick.

He's always just gettin off the phone with a GM or just had dinner with this coach.

Everything he says or writes is excrement.
