I do lol but drop some knowledge fam, feel like its bout to be a 757 vs 804 thing coming soon hahaha...

When I was in high school my stepmom sold Mary Kay and used to post a booth up on the parade route for State homecoming, did that for two or three years. The VSU chicks were outta this world and little 14-15 year old me was stuck lol...

I’m a Hampton Roads nikka so I fukk with that just off the strength...I put that over Richmond just because of the beaches...it stays a lil warmer in the 757 cuz we on the coast

I should be moving to the Richmond area soon. I been in Maryland for about 7 years and finally moving back to VA

I dig, the funny thing is there is a ton of movement for Virginians between 703, 804, and 757. In high school there was always a friendly competition with 757 whenever someone from out there moved to the Eight Owe or 703. Nothing crazy, but most people are loyal to they own turf...

I came back to NC a year ago because that's where I met my kids mom and we wanted the girls to be around family, but hopefully sooner or later I can make it back to The Beach, that's really where I want to settle and raise my daughters...

Lol I feel you bruh...my parents went to VSU and so did my wife...I was out there heavy between 2012 -2015

The women :wow:

I still regret not going to an HBCU
It’s not even a competition when it comes to 757 vs 804. VA beach alone shyts on Richmond, and then you got 6 other cities with similar population size and different landscapes and activities all within 30-45 min. Besides it being the capital Richmond isn’t big enough to compete with the entire Hampton roads

Have you even lived in Richmond to say that? What does The Beach do better than Rich? Richmond cleans up VB in every category besides water/beach culture, literally everything...

VB cleans up everybody else in most categories tho, that's why VB is #2 in the state to me...

Everything in Rich is just at a bigger, grander scale than anywhere else in Virginia...

You ain’t never lied breh. It’s like one person I know personally that’s from the VA part of The Shore, she’s from Withams but currently lives in Mappsville. I’ve only driven through the VA part once on Greyhound omw back to UMES. I’ll definitely say coming from PG County, The Shore in general was quite the culture shock. Before going to UMES, only time I’ve ever “been to” the Eastern Shore was family trips to Ocean City. But when me and my college friends stayed in OC last summer, that was the first time I’ve consciously witnessed subtle racism. Some of the local Cacs in the OC neighborhood we rented a weekend house in were :picard::beli::merchant::mjpls: upon seeing us, nikkas kept looking out their doors whenever we were outside :heh:

But yeah breh, IMO outside of Salisbury and OC and maybe Cambridge, there ain’t really much to do on The Shore, or at least the MD side.

Fruitland is meh, that Walmart be feeling dirty asf sometimes
Pocomoke aka The Moke looked okay, rather quiet
Princess Anne aka PA aka Pistol Ave is :trash:
Crisfield got a nice maritime country aesthetic and one of my friends (she’s a redhead) is from there but Idk what the race relations is really like there
Snow Hill got a nice old school aesthetic but I get sundown town vibes from that place
Haven’t explored Cambridge like that but that Harriet Tubman mural is always a really dope sight to see when I’m passing through :wow:
Main things I like about Salisbury is exploring SU’s campus; CookOut; better availability of food options including a decent diversity of international cuisines that took me by surprise such as Thai, Mexican, Chinese, Italian, Indian, Arabic, Jamaican, etc.; XL Games :banderas:; Salisbury Mall (not the best mall I’ve been to coming from the DMV but not the worse either); the decent amount of bars and clubs in the area; Salisbury Zoo; Salisbury City Park; the Folk Festival; Deadstock; the Riverwalk area; and those nice looking apartments and condos in the suburban parts of the city near the mall. Some of the local Cacs in Salisbury are ok but I do get dusty redneck vibes from most of them. The local Black folks are pretty decent even if a lot of them be on some wannabe Baltimore shyt for some reason:mjlol: Overall tho, Salisbury and OC are about as urban as The Shore gets, which brings me to...

Ocean City is self-explanatory, though I will admit to preferring VA Beach to it more often nowadays. VA Beach is bigger and more spread out, so it has more things to do away from the beachfront. And honestly, I find VA Beach’s beaches and boardwalk area to be cleaner than OC’s. Both cities definitely aren’t strangers to fukkery tho, especially during the warmer seasons and Spring Break. VB is also Blacker than OC in terms of local population so that’s another major point for them. Compared to OC, I’ve personally never gotten :mjpls: vibes while in VB.

Cot damn shout out to Withams. Used to be a couple joints that lived out that way:banderas:. shyt county as hell on the shore, bro. I try to get back once a yr, but I look at that shyt different. Especially after that shyt w Ralph Northam. Wild shyt, Salisbury was the city for us when we were coming up :bryan:. Unless you wanted to spend that bread on crossing the Bay Bridge-Tunnel, you were sliding up to Salisbury for your outings.

Princess Anne is wild lol. I remember I was in a summer program at UMES, and we went into town....them lil white folks wasn't having that shyt. Real dismissive :mjpls:

We used to slide out to OC for a bit, but I like VA Beach much better. Especially before the police started cracking down on the shyt. shyt used to be legendary on the oceanfront.

I wasn’t prepared for how country it could get over there lol, especially seeing redneck ass Cacs driving around in 4x4s with those obnoxiously oversized ass tires. Always hated when them mofos would cut me off :dahell: I’ve seen a few of the local brehs over there with some nice tricked out old school whips tho :ehh:

I always liked how there would often be roadside vendor stands selling fresh produce and flowers. I do hate how certain parts of The Shore got a stink in the air, especially on the routes taking you to UMES from the Bay Bridge. It be smelling like either chicken shyt, cow manure, fertilizer, swamp gas, or sometimes all of the above combined :scust: Even at UMES, it be smelling that sometimes. Smells even worse during warmer seasons. Even the country areas here in Southern MD or the fringes of NoVa don’t be smelling like that.

What did Ralph do? I legit forgot he’s the new governor of VA, thought it was still Mark Warner lol

And lol, that’s understandable. For a city of its size, it’s a decent amount of stuff to do in Salisbury. Speaking of Salisbury, s/o to both Asian Taste, Wayback Burgers, and Caribbean Flava :blessed:

Salisbury’s an interesting lil city. You got the downtown urban core area with SU, the hospital, canal, waterfront restaurants/bars, and CookOut; the Black part of town, the Cac part of town, what I assume are a couple of old money neighborhoods around the zoo/city park with the hood being not too far away; the semi-suburban and suburban new money parts of town where the mall is all the way to XL Games and all the way towards the border with Delaware; Red Light District being literally right next to a Christian-owned furniture store :dead::russ: Some of the high schools in Salisbury looked big asf too, like bigger than most of the ones here in PG. Wor-Wic looked quite large for a community college too. I’ll definitely say Salisbury doesn’t seem like too bad of a place to grow up in but I’m just looking at it from an outsider’s perspective, someone from there or from The Shore would know more about Salisbury better than me.

And yeah lol, them dusty ass Cacs in PA stay being on some shyt. We look down on their kind out here in PG, they would be in for one helluva culture shock over here :banderas: But yeah PA in general is wild lol. The area around Royal Farms be mad sketchy asf late at night and over the past year, it’s been some fukkery such as armed robbery, burglary, and occasional gunplay at them apartments and townhomes just off campus (not referring to the student housing of Arden’s Run nor Talons). Every once in a while, it be some local PA nikka either tryna use on-campus laundry facilities or tryna burglarize student apartments during off-semesters. It’s a small townhouse area in PA near the railroad tracks that’s home to the town’s local Sudanese community (I know this because I took an Arabic class one semester), they’re pretty nice folks, they just keep to themselves. They run an Islamic Center near the post office on Main Street. S/O to Price Cutters, s/o to China Chef for being quite possibly the only Chinese carryout on the entire Shore for serving up mumbo sauce (it ain’t as good as the stuff here at home or even Capital City Mambo Sauce but it was better than nothing), s/o to Beach to Bay Seafood Company, and a very special s/o to that lil soul food/pit BBQ joint behind the Royal Farms (I forgot its name but it used to be called The Soul Shack) :blessed:

What’s the atmosphere like down in VA Beach on regular days outside major events?
