I don't know bout him doing a Blackface shoot but he did actually do model shots for 2 black guys clothing brand, this was around the time he had some ties in the city and loosely lived here... Brand is from the early to mid 90's...

The guy who headed the brand went on to design for ROOTS canada and their olympic apparel. He is not a c00n, but that whole Jim Crow shyt flopped hardbody. I think he went to Roots after..
Yeah I saw him in the jim crow tee...
I know the history of the brand...he's just in the wrong ethnic group.
Maybe he should have made some Jamaican Political Violence or British Colonialism gear.
Maybe Drake should rock a Shylock Merchant meme shirt?

So.....

this dude lied?

I mean: we know he lied, any black man could tell you 'this nikka lying yo.. he light skinned he could get roles this makes 0 sense' but the FACT is this was for a clothing line?
I saw his statement. I don't know if he outward lied but it was definitely tied to that clothing brand maybe the brands imagery inspired what he claims he was trying to do but one came before the other. The brand itself was always on some militant shyt, they just never got their point across to well on that campaign.

I don't disagree with you my first thought when I saw that whole Jim crow couture and his pictures was... that's shyts a fail. He has to live with that mistake but Drake isn't a racist. He was a misguided fool

The power of presentation is everything. I seen the happy and sad face shyt together and the way Pusha put it on the cover created a whole other narrative. But again that's only possible because he took the pic in the first place so he has to live with that L.

Alright if you are not white, then the sentence 'black is black' just means you are not black, because ALL black people know not all black people get treated equally good or bad
Living in Nyc/L.I my entire life for the past 37 years I can completly agree with you on this.

I dont seperate myself into a seperate sub-segment all because im a note -fairer shade of brown. To me the way I speak to MY people is on the same playing field and level.

I can't speak for what other folks do , I can only speak for myself.

Thank you sister. Thinking about it.. @M-ILLITANT has to be an infiltrating agent.

Dude has a name we use as something positive (a black militant, we think that's a good thing) YET he wants the Drake smiley to stay.
Dude has a black woman as an avi, in general we do -whether we disagree at times- see our black women as a positive.

In the meantime he's either government, police and part-taking in discussions that affect our black lives for real and at times can't stick to his role and says 'the Drake smiley stays..' that makes absolutely no sense. What I would give for a SAFE SPACE for black men and women to communicate: no potentially racist cacs, no agents.. and NO this is not racism white people already have that safe space: it's called western society..

You know what.. ? Thinking back that users name is "militant" but yet I have never seen any comments that are the foundation for his "militancy". I have seen him cape for the wrong causes, which is why I'm not surprised that he's a so called 'black poster' whose only argument on this issue to try and call out another black poster with an actual stance and directive. That seems to be nothing but their go to mode of deflection.

Yeah... and the safe space.. smh, not as long as black ownership continually allows the mentality like his, along with racist cacs.. agents, whites with alternative agendas, feminists that have white aligned agendas, to continue to flood the threads with the divisive mindsets. No progress is gained when there is a constant infiltration and people that allow it.

Colorism arguments are bullshyt coming from "Cosby" types who were insulated in life until recently.
shyt sounds like verbatim collegiate regurgitation started by women who neglect negative personality qualities and deflect their repulsiveness onto a skin tone defense. Keep it within parameters.
PS:Beyonce does like to play up Creole heritage, aka the failed US buffer caste that fools are trying to recreate by separating "mixed" and "black" who both worked the same fields, felt the same whip, and drank at the same fountains to sit at the backs of the same buses.
We have a varied look. Stop dikkeating the West African AND Euro standards.
They're irrelevant.
Whites tan
Nigerians bleach.
I'm fine right here.

Yeah I saw that.
No blackface, tho.
I also know that companies pay/ask folks to wear their gear for promo.
Never saw one piece on one body in my 34 years on earth...until this controversy.
they actually had placements in 90's videos but no their early 2000's rerun was a flop so I highly doubt it was visible anywhere. considering they were trying to sell this brand with its imagery in street wear boutiques frequented by whites and hipsters it's probably for the best. Mos was actually rocking with them for the love though... they had no paper for him...

HE IS BLACK.. wtf are you talking about?? I know this for a fact. What's your rationale behind your questions?
I asked him,not you
He can speak for himself can't he?
What you know about him doesn't matter to me
He moves like a cac..shouldn't be that hard for him to prove he's Black

I'm all for memes. But this goes too far. Blackface is a horrible remnant of racism and has no place on the coli.

we should ban drake threads if that's the case (jk but you see how they did the "Ye" discussion thread). As far as the smilie i dont care much to use it or lose it but good luck on your endeavor.
