PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — Prince George's County police met with members of the media Monday to speak on the startling list of homicides the county has seen in the last seven days.
Ten people have died after a series of shootings and one stabbing. A range of individuals - some not yet identified - have had their lives cut short, from a teenager to a 55-year-old man.

State's Attorney Aisha Braveboy released a statement Monday regarding the homicides over the weekend, expressing her horror at the loss of life.
"The gun violence that took the lives of several individuals over the weekend, simply put, is devastating," she said, adding that her office will be working closely with law enforcement and that they had a 98% homicide conviction rate in 2021. "It is heartbreaking to this community and loved ones of those lost senselessly to violence . . . I want to assure the families of victims and the community at large that we continue to prioritize these cases and our team works diligently to support the families involved in these tragedies."

PG used to average ~200 bodies a year. Inside the beltway right near the DC line has the ghetto areas like Landover, Forestville, District Heights, Suitland, Capitol Heights etc. The outer beltway is black excellence and money.
My mama copped a crib in Suitland 15 years ago when they knocked down some projects over there and started the gentrification process. Couple years ago they knocked down the projects across the street from her and that's when I knew "mama finally bout to get her monies worth" and I saw it just a couple weeks ago when I went there for vacation. That whole area as we know it will be completely different in five years and it could be in less than three.

DC had reached early 2000s level of violence and PG County is catching up.
Mo County low key broke their all time homicide record last year. That ain’t saying much because MoCo is generally soft and corny. No real hood areas in MoCo. Plus, if you get caught doing dirt in MoCo, they hitting you with football numbers like they did to that cornball Simba rapper from Gaithersburg.
