this was/is something the Neptunes started doing in the mid-2000s when they switched their production up to a more "crisper" sound that you hear on the Madonna and Shakira records, for example. But it's on a ton of their records. Cant believe people didn't notice this.

they didn't produce that shyt breh. It was Brian Alexander Morgan, who also did vocals with Coko on "You're Always On My Mind." Pharrell was added to the remix of Right Here, spit a wack verse and they only used the "S-double-U-to-the-V" part that you hear a million times in the song.
