I HATE vocal signature...It is like having a advertisement before Youtube videos...

If you are going to have a signature, blend it with the music...

True. The only vocal signature I like is "JUST BLAAAAAAAAAAZE", just because it gets me all the more hyped.

Just imagine if producers in other genres did vocal signatures.

Billie Jeans comes on. The signature bass line starts up. Then, "Quincy Joooooooones!"

Dre, Erick Sermon, Premo and RZA i wold say don't have signatures like that..

Kind of reminds me of back in the day when people knew a Pete Rock beat because it had horns

It's some Hip-Hop shyt. As youngsters we always thought this was the thing to do, whether you're beatboxing, drumming/beating on a table or whatever, you always crank it up like this first. It's mental, on a metaphorical tip to insinuate that it's about to pop off. Sort of like in the cartoons, particularly Scooby Doo how they run in place for a few steps before taking off, or like how you rev up a car and the wheels spin before you take off. This is like 101 for DJs.
