The more I started listening to producers and DJs I started to notice this. Im not an artist myself but it seems like "most" of them have something that makes it theirs, but thats pretty common for creative things.

This is a hip hop thing, cats been doing this shyt forever. I think Pharell has used it because it's something a lot of sample based producers have done in the past and it gives that same feeling to his beats.

I was listening to D Nice album yesterday after the Combat Jack interview and I heard it on there at least once in the few songs I played in the whip. It's not some Neptunes only thing or something they only did after a certain year.
