Education is important but I work in insurance I know a few people without a degree making $70,000 a year and a I know a chick with a master’s degree in social work making like $17.00 a hour

however in the long run , U never know if u lose that job without a education u might not find another position like that cause u might need a degree

I would be SICK if I got a PhD and only made $40k annually. The 8th grade reading sucks but still. As long as it ain't no mining, ice truck driving, out in the sea, oil shyt

Well to make 120k with no education, then yeah that's what you'll be doing most likely :francis:

Very true. Had an ex that was in a trade. Worked crazy hours and would be sore all the time. You can't tell me doing that for 10 years + won't effect you later on down the line. Probably less.

I think trades are alright if you have an exit plan or don't do the physically demanding ones.

I’ve actually been in both situations. When I was finishing up my doctorate, I worked for the Office of Naval Research for like $37K a year. My current and past job were 6 figures.

So, when I was the PHD student, I was always worrying about money. The trade off was that I was able to learn so much, explore new ideas, have conversations with very intelligent people. It was like being a starving artist (a classmate said that)

Now, making 6 figures I can pretty much buy what I want and I’m not worried about money. But, trade off, I’m not intellectually stimulated. I do the same shyt all week, working for a boring corporation.

Which one would I choose? 120K a year most definitely. I can still seek out knowledge and smart people. Not having to worry so much about money is a blessing. Being poor is stressful :whew:
