You cant just request those elaborate conditions at every casino. You gotta negotiate a setup like that and its gotta before big money. How many casino just have a mandarin speaking dealer on staff?

the reason they let him do this is because they want the publicity of having Phil Ivey at their casino. its really not a scheme any joe schmoe can do. I don't even think the casino doesn't know what he's doing. They're just banking on not paying him.

This is old. The ruling is retarded because Phil Ivey informed the casino prior to his arrival he would have someone with him.
Casinos want big players to come to garner attention and potentially big bucks. But Ivey agreed to come to this one under specific stipulations one of which was to have the lady be there with him and have a certain dealer while he's playing bacarat. The casino agreed! That's what makes it such a joke they wouldn't have said anything if he loss. But the second they lose to the rules they agreed to now let's pay off a judge and take it to the court. The edge Ivey got from his stipulations I read were maybe at most a 5% difference, which was enough to turn the advantage to the player for once.

At least in poker you can get rewarded for your mind. And poker you play against other people and not the casino. Thats the reason everyone migrated there after black jack flaws were figured out.
