Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the grizzlies fire Lionel Hollins partially because he refused to buy into the analytics side of things?

And aren't the Grizzlies the team that's giving the Warriors hell? They also hired Hollinger.

Analytics is just advanced scouting and statistics. Also that was a cop out by the grizz GM. They let Hollins go because they were gonna have to give him a raise because his contract was up. It was easier to hire a coach of the cheap and let him take over since Hollins did all the dirty work building the team years before.

Which is crazy because the media will then bytch of dudes in the league not making mid range shots and then suck off analytic dudes.

You know what is funny in all this shyt. You know MJ was one of the most efficient players in the league because he believed in high percentage shots and mid range jumpers. He was never crazy about three and would often say why take a 23 foot three when I can dribble 2 times and pull up and hit a 18 footer which is a higher percentage shot.

I absolutely hate watching the warriors and rockets where them dudes got a 19 foot shot and will bag up to shoot a three.
Media is full of hypocritical fagg@ts that change the narrative to slander whatever they decide not to like during that given moment. But I miss the days of efficient mid range shooters and I'm not talking about those long 2's that's 1 feet away from being a 3pointer. That's why I like Kyrie and Chris Paul's offensive games, best mid range shooters in the league in my opinion

I agree with some of this but mj is an anomaly within itself 3s and layups are the most efficient mid range the least no disputing that in my opinion.

stats don't tell the whole story....Hawks are taking 31 threes/gm :francis:

So the Wizards as a counter-example might not be a great idea :manny:

Then it sounds like both teams are shooting a lot of three's, one is just hitting them at a significantly higher rate :manny:

Basketball is a simple game.

The closer you are to the basket, the better chance you have at scoring. All these analytics and BS we have been hearing about the Warriors this season is in the middle of getting obliterated and I'm just sitting back like :win:
This is far from true

the fukk is he talking about? the top 3 teams and 5 of the top 6 teams in 3 points attempted per possession are still alive, and 6 of the bottom 8 are already out. guess he fits right in with the knicks front office

Golden State
Atlanta, Houston, & GSW were built with analytics ...

Cleveland has the best player in the game ...

If Phil is hard-headed and completely against data driven analytical decisions, Knicks are fukked ...

James Harden won by driving to the basket time and time again.

I wish him and the rockets success over the Warriors in the next round, Go Rockets!
