they was old enough to know none of them nikkas was gone last too much longer

like you said we had Tayshaun as the future but that should tell you we was still lookin lol

even if we did wanna draft a project i rather Bosh soft ass get drafted instead of Darko

Melo was my favorite player at the time comin outta college so i just knew we was gone draft him

we had no needs that draft, i think we shoulda took the best player available
Darko was nowhere he did nothing outstanding
in the league for 10 years now and still aint did shyt

what kinda game was these nikkas projecting wit him? lol Dirk? he couldnt shoot
big man? he was soft in the paint

only excuse that might work is Larry Brown not giving him a chance
even then

even then he was a bum cuz Flip came in and sat his ass right back on the bench

he had no skills at all not even a good rebounder for a 7 footer
Darko's development was warped from day 1. maybe if they had a coach that would have worked with him he could have been a different player. instead he became the human victory cigar.

I get that there is a minimum and I get that superstars aren't lining up to come to the D. However that doesn't mean you can just fukk up over and over again and it's acceptable.

What's the reason? :stopitslime: The reason is this nikka turned what could have been a dynasty back into a lottery squad with bad decision after bad decision. I give him 0 credit for drafting Drummond. It doesn't take much guile to draft a consensus top 3 talent at the 9 spot. It's not like he found Drummond on some Manu/Parker type shyt. He just got lucky.

Exactly what good has he done? Traded away a bad deal that he was responsible for? Took advantage of other teams passing on top talents in the draft?

Just because other GMs are bad doesn't mean I should tolerate Joe D's ineptitude. That's like saying ":manny: Hey other kids parents starve them and burn them with irons, you should be happy that yours feed you garbage and beat you."

Oh, so give no credit for Joe D hitting the past three drafts (and hitting on Kyle Singler as a second round pick) but lets fire him for missing on Darko and Rodney Stuckey (although he hit again on Afflalo later in that draft), ok I get it. I like how people say Joe D blew the pick Rodney Stuckey and Mateen Cleaves, who in those drafts were better than them that were drafted after him, you didn't answer that (I already listed Michael Redd in the 2000 draft and Marc Gasol in the 2007 draft)

Bruh would you stop talking about Kyle singler. On a good team that cac is riding the bench.

He didn't blow the pick on Rodney Stuckey. That was a solid pick. He blew everything else by really seeming to base all other decisions around the Stuckey pick. He wasn't and clearly isn't good enough to try to build your team around.

What does that have to do with him being a good second round pick. Oh, ok, lets just talk about Joe D's mistakes, my bad

How does any of what you said address what I said? Just look at my last post or any of my posts in hear and the shyt is broken down pretty thoroughly. If you don't get it you just don't want to.

The only reason singler gets run is because of this terrible team. If he was on a better team his ass would be on the bench. Singler is hardly a job saving pick.

:what: You joking right? And even if you serious, they a million times better than Austin Daye, who was picked ahead of them both. But I refuse to believe you think Knight is better than them anyway. What about his game would make you even think that?

He can do everything they can do talent wise. Holiday isnt a true pg either imo. Knight falls into that category too. Lawson is overrated on here something serious. Plus both of cats have had better coaches/systems to play in.

Man Joe D is the luckiest GM ever :childplease:. Traded away Hill and Stack in their prime and the injury gods blessed him. This nikka was in 2k dynasty mode and that shyt just happened to work out.

Only thing he did right was not giving Ben Wallace that 60 mil contract, but leave it to Joey D to bring that nikka back :krs:

See this the shyt I'm talking about with uninformed on irrational fans. I understand some folks wanting to see him gone. But don't make up shyt to fit your agenda. Joe did not "trade away" Grant Hill. Grant was signing with Orlando as a free agent and decided to do a sign and trade in order to get more money. Joe D did everything he could to keep Grant in Detroit, but they were trying to form a super team in Orlando with him, T-Mac, and Duncan. As for Stack, he wasn't any special and I welcomed that trade. One of the most umimpacftul scoring leaders I've ever seen. I hated that nikkas game. He was a real nikka though and he seemed to genuinely like Detroit, I'll give him that, but on the court I was not a fan. Joe didn't get "lucky" with either one of those moves. The sign and trade and getting Rip for Stack were good quality moves.

Folks can shyt on him for the dumb shyt he did all day, and I'll cosign them to the fullest, but don't start making up shyt and spit on his successes. Him putting together that team from scraps was a great accomplishment as a gm. Unfortunately, that was 10 years ago.

:jddontbelieveu:

Knight cant even make a entry pass to the post and he suppose to be a pg

I know he was on a leash when Karen was in charge because she didn't want to add salary.

As far as he had to spend it, so you spend on a couple of bums that funk the franchise up for years. And you suppose to keep your job after that :mindblown:

Do y'all realize that was 10 years ago when Dumars won a title

:heh: the franchise was in the slums before Joe D took over. Seems to me like cats got spoiled :what: damned if you damned if you don't. Detroit is Joe's first GM job, wasn't like he had a resume to build elsewhere beforehand where he could make and learn from mistakes.

:jdwhat:you mean the playoff team he took over. That team he took over would was a better product than they puttin out now.

The last 4 years are the worst consecutive seasons for the pistons since the 70's :aicmon:111 wins in 4 seasons

No he can't. He's a terrible finisher in the paint and a horrible decision maker. The only thing he may do better than them is shoot the 3, but even that's debatable. He's also extremely inconsistent. Holiday isn't a true but that doesn't mean he isn't better than Knight. Tired of seeing this nikka have a game where he gives you 23 and 6, then the next night he fukk around and has 6 pts on 1-8 shooting with 5 to's and 2 ast. And watching the games, he really struggles running an offense and seems to not know when to attack and when to set folks up. You can call Lawson overrated as much as you want, but he's still a better player and pg than Knight. The #'s and the eye test both show it imo.

You can talk about coaches and systems all you want, but the truth is cream rises. He's been given the minutes and freedom to show he has the goods, but he has shown so far that he can be consistently inconsistent. You have no idea what your gonna get each game from him. The coach/system isn't making him have those 1-8 nights, or that 2 to 1.5 ast/to ratio. He needs to make some drastic improvements to his game. He needs to get stronger to improve his finishing ability in the paint, and learn to make better decisions on the court. If you wanna argue potential against those guys then sure, I'm not gonna bother going hard against that. But if you talking right now, he's not anywhere better than either one of them. And they both would help improve this team over what he offers now.

That team wasn't a contender, the East didn't go through them.
