it will be just the way PC is now. You can game on different settings. In this case the settings will be automatically chosen based on the console you are playing it on. if its a regular xbox, you're getting the low settings for any game created to max out the scorps power.

I like the video so here is what looks like is going to happen. This is clearly a PC like model, he dodged the "single package" question by Jeff. Essentially it will be like launching a steam game and in some games they automatically detect your hardware and then recommend how the game should run...allowing you to tweak. You won't be able to do that on the xbox one because the audience is different, the Scorpio will default to 4K if the source is available and then downsample to 1080P if that's the detected resolution.

Here are my reasons...
-The purpose of this console is to play games in 4K resolution and for VR shyt.
-The traditional games (non-VR games) will be on the Xbox One
-They cannot go into the PC gaming arena and expect to flex for a sustained period of time

This is a case where they have given the consumer too many options that are more affordable and more attractive than shelling out the money for Scorpio.

They way you're framing this, implies that MS is ready for this console to be a niche/enthusiast one and not something for the masses.

This Console isn't for the masses and it's for the enthusiast and the niche that's who there catering this too. This console is going to be close to a 1000 dollars I guarantee it and by the time it comes out the PC will already have a better graphic card then the whole gotdamn console that will be half the price.

Devs usualy chose resolution over framerate. It would be misleading to tell people they should buy a 4k console with a 1080p TV.

Ok, so the ONLY reason this console is being made is to run games in 4K and VR correct? Every game that releases for Scorpio will be available on Xbox One, but it's not worth getting one for unless you intend on getting into VR or want to play in 4K.

but he said devs will choose how to use this power which means not every game will be 4K. Some games will probably just get a 1080P/60fps upgrade with visual enhancements to boot. How is that not worthy enough of an upgrade for a 1080P user? Hell, 4K downsampled to 1080P looks good as fukk.
