"We thought about the price performance of what we wanted to hit with the Scorpio, relative to what we were going to be able to do with the S. So that we would have a good price continuum, so people wouldn’t look at these two things as so disconnected because of the price delta,” Spencer explains. “So I think you will feel like it’s a premium product, a premium console. And not something, anything more than that. So I wouldn’t get people worried that this thing is going to be unlike any console price you’ve ever seen. We didn’t design it that way. That said, the opening price point for the Xbox One S, and the different hard drive sizes that is a critical part of this whole product. When I think about it as a product line, you should expect the pricing to kind of be in line with that.”

If this a decent powered machine, not a bad price imo
Console gamers don't like paying more than $399.

There is a shot it sees a $499 SKU, but they will likely have to release a small HDD/SSD model for $399 to appease the console people crying about the price being too high for them.

If it's a SFF PC which I think it will be, then a $499 entry price can probably work. You will get just enough of the PC crowd interested that it might start to make sense for them.

SteamOS and Steam Machines are about to take a massive L. I can just feel it at this point, Gaben was right to be paranoid:wow:

Folks say you can't blame all the shyt on Mattrick, but its a night and day difference.
Mattrick just had a very aggressive approach and was highlighting things that most gamers just don't care about. The XBOX Brand is a gaming brand first and foremost...you focus on getting that absolutely tight and then layer everything else in slowly.

Sad thing about it all? Microsoft actually had the stronger launch Window, but completely dumbfukked it with that HORRIBLE launch.

I just think $499 for what they're advertising would be right. I mean, 3 years ago they sold people an XBOX ONE with a Kinect for $500 and that Xbox One wasn't anything special hardware wise.

Yeah but who's dumb enough to shell out $499 for a new system just because it has 4K abilities.... :troll:

S at $300
Scorpio at $400
LE's and Elite at $450-500

MS has the momentum. Can't see them gift wrapping Sony the cheaper 4K console argument.

I don't agree, I feel most gamers don't really know anything. Phil didn't cancel any games, or order any games to be made. All that would have came with or without Phil Spencer. And all the other ideas they had were great ideas imo, but gamers were too scared to be offline.

Has anyone here tried using their XB1 offline? Anyone? I encourage you to try it today to see if that thing works offline like it should :usure: So all that really happened was we got cheated out of all the cool features they wanted to implement. And they can't count on the "cloud" for computing power in the same way they originally intended. So we are stuck in the present so to speak :snoop:

Now the Xbox is LESS FUNCTIONAL than it was before phil arrived, and only the casuals who never wanted to give Kinect a chance are saying "Yeah, less features". Meanwhile, this new dashboard is boring as fukk. Leaderboards used to be front and center. I don't scroll thru the bullshyt setup they have now. Not often at least. Cortana isn't as intelligent as she is on PC/Mobile. I be like bytch.. I WANNA GO TO YOUTUBE, NOT THE YOUTUBE WEBSITE (which is actually impressive but I'm venting right now so fukk that)

People are giving too much credit to Phil when all that has happened is a price drop :francis:

The PS4 Pro is not a 4K console in any meaningful capacity. The damn disc drive doesn't even support 4K discs
