There's a police station not too far from there
That shooting that happened at the high school yesterday, there is a police station right up the block
Part of the problem is that the PPD are on a silent strike, they "quiet quitting"
Meek Mill and Larry Krasner exposed alot of the corruption in the police force and now they are purposely letting wild shyt happen to get a more police friendly DA in office eventually
It's only get worse since they recently dropped the location based hiring restriction, alot more suburban cacs going be joining the force next couple years

This is facts, truth is since the BLM protests in 2020 seems the police like :hubie: Krashner ain't helping pump faking that indictments coming. City on fire and haven't seen anyone with a plan.

I like Philly, specifically for it's urban decay. That don't say much for the people that live there though.

@Leasy Chicago has it's problems, but it's still maintained itself as a world class city. Like Philly, it's problems are historical and systemic, but the lawlessness in some parts of the city only happened within the past 15 years.

That's what i don't understand. The only explanation I can give is that Chicago is in the midwest and doesn't have to compete with other cities. But Philly will always be compared to New york. when you think of world class cities, It's Chicago, New York, LA.

The Hammer has to come down.

That's the only thing that ever stops lawlessness like this.

MFers talking that " more activities/programs/jobs will prevent this" shyt are mistaken/naive/or straight fools.
What would you do if you were in charge?

That’s a regular occurrence in Philly with their youth and the Wawas

Yeah because Chicago still had a huge white population many of who didn't complete in the urban flight due to the size of Chicago. Same as NYC, if NYC didn't have billionaires and Manhattan it would be worse than Philly/Chicago.

I don't think it's a competing thing. Philly will never compete with NYC.. NYC left Philly behind in the early 1900s with its ports/Harbors/and size. Philly was suppose to be the epic center of America due to it being the founding city. United Nations etc.. was about to be build in Philly until the Rockafellas step in. This on a political stage but it's bigger than that when it comes to racism housing crime employment wage tax bank discrimination etc.

Whats the point of arresting people when they just getting released back in the streets? These "liberal" laws are terrible and make for a lawless land

I've heard this said about crime spikes in multiple cities. Even in cities where officers have been shot and or killed recently, like Philly.

Officers are soft-striking and creating a climate that eventually puts them further in harm's way as criminals become more emboldened?

That doesn't add up in Philly or anywhere else. They've been saying that about NYC, with a decorated former police captain as the Mayor and a bona fide true blue appointed Police Chief.

Does the arrest data support your take about cops not fully doing their jobs?

firearm arrests are down 20% this year :picard:
scroll down and look at the matrix from 2016 to now, effectiveness gauged by arrests is almost down 50% despite crime being at an all time high
either they are quiet quitting or terrible at their jobs, pick one

I'm not sure how much we can trust self reporting from police anyway, probably way lower than that
and they don't even come out for shyt like car break ins or retail thief, budget is $700mil a year and it's one of the least effective police forces in the country going off clearance rates and outcomes

Why is that white people's version of Philly is totally different than blacks.

Philly is segregated like most big cities and the white areas are vastly better than minority areas. Philly is a top 5 city in America if you ask White people :russ:

3rd time visiting this city for a weekend.

My stereotypes are confirmed

-Ugly women with rough ass accents:hhh:

-Out of shape people everywhere :francis:
-trash just chillin on the sidewalks 24/7 :stopitslime:

Cheap apartments. But :scust: atmosphere

Philly is corrupt

Most of the tax dollars goes to the sports complexes, colleges, and local government.

To fix the city would require a total rebuke of their current tax system by voters
