I can mention GoGo, the local carryout culture, hand dancing (which is rooted in Lindy Hop), dope ass urban dance culture (beat ya feet, chop, Gleesh Walk, etc.), DC hardcore punk, the drum circle at Malcolm X Park, the legendary and up-n-coming comedians and actors, a fashion trending culture that’s rivaled only by NYC and ATL on this side of the country, moombahton, The Winstons, Duke Ellington, Anacostia, Adams Morgan, Georgia Ave, Easter Monday at the National Zoo (basically DC’s African American Day Festival), Florida Ave Grill, Ben’s Chili Bowl, Sankofa Bookstore, Children of the Sun, Ooh’s & Aah’s, LeDroit Park, Busboys, Eighteenth Street Lounge, etc., etc., etc. that still wouldn’t be a complete list, which is telling despite Da City’s small land size.
