what if it makes people drink smaller portions?

no one should be drinking more than a can at a time. 20+ ounces are :camby:

and still: no one is stopping you :dead: just kick in for the fund for the obese motherfukkers in the hospital. which is a real thing, a very real thing :scusthov:

Soda drinkers can drink smaller portions.
But in the reality of things, people will want to buy the larger bottle/can of soda because it will be cheaper.

no they arent. quit the hippie shyt.

and most diet drinks use sucralose, not aspartame
I don't know who told u that
But the majority of zero calorie or diet sodas contains aspertame or other cancerous sugar substitute items

Them zero calorie drinks are more harmful to the human body than regular soda

Just like full milk is less harmful to the body than 2% milk
But all cows milk is poison to human digestion

Ya'll dudes keep believing that a beverage company really give a fukk about providing a healthy alternative

They just know that fat people want to feel less guilty
So they make a diet drink so they can feel better about eating a 20 piece nuggets and super size fries

I don't drink soda but anyone that's cool with them taxin people's lifestyle choices needs to go play in traffic. It's bullshyt ass paper grab disguised as being health conscious. Bet most of them fakkits that voted this in are fat and flabby as fukk on top of it

Grown ass adults don't need big daddy same dictating what they should and should not eat and consume. Keep outta people's personal lives

Kenney actually didn't push the health angle, he admitted it was a money grab he just said the money would be used for education and rec centers around the city. Which isn't gona happen just pointing out that the health angle isn't what got it passed.

I think soda is unfairly blamed for fatness, most people's obesity stems from eating way too much junk food and not getting off their lazy ass at all

But like someone else said, this was done to raise money rather than for "health"

Americans are some of the fattest folks on the planet. It because we live in a cluture of Over indulgence and excess. Americans don't understand that soda is a treat not a something you have with every fukking meal. Soda once was considered like candy or ice cream back in the day. Now mfs are drinking that shyt everyday and wondering why they have high blood pressure at 21.
Nah, people drank soda more in the 70s and 80s and there was way less obesity back then

Oh really
Please link those studies
Overall, the Panel concluded, on the basis of all the evidence currently available from this ERF study and previous evaluations, that there is no indication of any genotoxic or carcinogenic potential of aspartame and that there is no reason to revise the previously established ADI for aspartame of 40 mg/kg bw.

Opinion on a request from the European Commission related to the 2nd ERF carcinogenicity study on aspartame | European Food Safety Authority

Considering results from the large number of studies on aspartame's safety, including five previously conducted negative chronic carcinogenicity studies, a recently reported large epidemiology study with negative associations between the use of aspartame and the occurrence of tumors, and negative findings from a series of three transgenic mouse assays, FDA finds no reason to alter its previous conclusion that aspartame is safe as a general purpose sweetener in food.
FDA Statement on European Aspartame Study

Following these studies, the US National Cancer Institute conducted a study of nearly half a million people, comparing those who consumed drinks containing aspartame with those who did not. Results of the 2006 study (PDF, 87kb) found aspartame did not increase the risk of leukaemia, lymphoma or brain cancer.
