You can't have a high rate of crime and murder in the same neighborhoods where these stores are located and not understand why these store owners would want/need the glass. I'd much rather them have bulletproof glass, than arming themselves and shooting as they see fit and getting off for it.

Man fukk all that.
We know the crime is there because of the poverty.
Are these store owners reinvesting in the communities they getting money out of?
If no then why the fukk are yall caping?

I don’t disagree with you. The point is that the poverty and crime will still be there, glass or not, store or not. Removal of the glass solves nothing, just as putting it up solved nothing.

If anything pass a law FORCING reinvestment into those communities.

If they are going to ban bp glass they need to give all these store owners ccw permits I don’t have any sympathy for people who are willing to stick guns in people’s face threaten their lives and rob them for a couple hundred dollars. Is someone’s live worth that. A lot of those stores get robbed every year and they often know family or people that have died.

I knew someone in my high school who robbed a store and got his head blown off with a shotgun i didn’t shed a single tear.

The mentality that some of these people that live in the low income high crime areas is fukking terrible for the community and business in general. They rob black owned stores too. As many of y’all are not willing to admit. The mentality of the hood is to get something for nothing and finesse and hustle your way around the system.

My aunt owned a corner store and people were constantly asking for free shyt. She would always tell them do you go into Walmart and ask that. Some teenagers would be stealing flash mobs where they would grab everything they could throw it in trash bags and run. Workers would steal and not even small stuff. She had to close up her business. Most black people would never open a business in those same areas.

BP glass is a neutral safeguard not just for store owners, but patrons as well. You give these foreign store owners guns and there will be a bunch of “misunderstandings”. If the trained police are killing without hesitation, you think some store owner won’t?

I'm still unsure of the connection. I mean most stores in the hood (liquor, carry out or bodega types) have bulletproof glass and for good reason. If the concern is selling drugs and loitering, removing bp glass is not helping that.
^this

But I don't expect people who've never lived in the hood much less been to the hood to understand what's really going on

Some kids will Rob the store just for fun or off a dare

You'll see more fights, looting, stores closing, and store owners and people getting shot

Around my old way there was a hair store/mixed use convenience store with no glass..

The owners got into a fight with somebody over a "transaction dispute" and they burned the store down ..

that was over ten years ago
and it's still an empty lot where the store used to be

yea, people love these talking points on the net ignoring real life. if you're in a neighborhood that gets shot up and got folks doing stick ups on the regular, fukk your "if you dont feel safe leave" rhetoric (BTW a lot of these store owners are making 30-50k a year - they're not rich and don't have the skills or capital to be doing business in some upscale neighborhood), that BP glass may be the difference between being shot/killed and simply getting stuck for some cash.

Well, instead of selling poison, why not open a business to sell opportunity to the community living there? I'm not going to feel any sympathy for them reaping the consequences of exploiting a desperately poor community.

What's fukked up too is you would think nikkas would protect the stores and the owners in their neighborhoods, as some post up outside the stores and hustle, or their families know the owners and generations of each others families, or just for the fact that's where the food, drinks, blunts, etc are. I just don't get it.

i've seen businesses of all types with BP glass in the hood, it's not just one "line of business". dudes could stop selling liquor or zags/cigs, whatever and still need to protect themselves/the cash on hand. yall really like to paint the hood as faultless.
