Phonte is a underrated vet in the game. He kinda reminds me of black thought. Not skill wise but more of the type a dude that drop gems on every verse. And never had a weak verse on anything. Abd the dude can actually sing. Its all about Black thought Nas and Phonte on my ipod for best catalogs.

Nygga says it at the end of the verse :rudy:
Y'all must just be listening to the beat

My man, I heard it a million times but each time, I wasn't listening to see if he rhymes, I was listening to his lyrics. I guess I was imagining what he was talking about. I saw him in the club trying to bag a chick. It wasn't until I really payed attention to his flow, and realized he wasn't rhyming, that I realized what was happening. That's why it's so big to me. He made me visualize what he was rapping so much, that I wasn't paying attention to if it was rhyming or not. He did it flawlessly, along with the beat.

my personal GOAT, besides the fact that he was nice as fukk he just dropped too many verses that were relatable for an early 20 something going through young adulthood. Women, relationships, 9 to 5 grind, beefing with moms, the nikka ran thru it all and made you feel like he was rapping bout your life. Not saying he wasn't nice before or after but his run from The Chitlin Circuit through Separate But Equal was just unfukkwitable imo, so many quotable.s

If I just told you I was imaging what he was saying, then I was LISTENING:ufdup:. You was just listening to his flow. I bet you're a rapper, and that's why you did that. You were analyzing it technically. I was just enjoying the song, and imagining his words, not listening to it technically. I do that with damn near all the music I listen to. I try to imagine a scenario that can go with the song and get a feel for it.

I stopped being technical with songs that I just want to enjoy ever since I started making beats, and could not enjoy music anymore because I kept listening to how the beat was made, and all this technical stuff.

When he said that at the end of the song, I imagined he said that to the chick he was talking to. Plus, every time I listen to this album, I'm doing something, and not just sitting down chilling so that could have played a part in me not noticing it sooner.

Its crazy, I went to the same college as this dude. Son was working hard on the craft back then, along with going to class. Very happy for the brotha to get all this well deserved shine!
