I don't care about all that. :mjlol: @ riding around looking for a semi decent goal that actually has a net on it, just save your time go to an indoor gym. Good basketballs, Good hoops don't have to worry about weather messing up your time.
fukk that shyt my nikka

*Breaks for start of game of 33 with sun all in face*

*Swish*

:manny:

*Next shot clangs off side of rim, does long ass jog for rebound :damn:*

When I moved to Dallas that was one of the first things I noticed. Nobody hoops outside here. I understand in the summer cause its hot as shyt, but after that its good ass hoopin weather til damn near November/December. My boy told me nobody plays outside anymore, everybody's in the gyms.

Where you live? There are games all evening in East Dallas outside. All the games are at courts by the walking trails for some reason. I don't hoop like that anymore, but a lot of dudes just stick to the recs. When I used to hoop you could get a game anytime at MLK. I dunno about the burbs. When I was at Garland, there was always a game at every rec. There's no way them white boys aint hoopin all day in places like Plano or Frisco.

I be wanting to play for real pick up with muthafukkas but I was shot back in 2000
Can barely lift my arm like that any more even after all that time passed
Most I can do is go take my son out shoot around with him
All he likes to do right now is dribble any damn way so its kind of a good thing for me lol

:salute: Some cats don't understand how important something like that is.

Maybe, it depends. I think there is still a lot of "pick-up" basketball, it's just not on the outdoor public courts.

I remember going to the basketball courts on Friday nights at Memorial Square across the street from the Toyota Center around 2005 right after Katrina happened and alot of families from New Orleans use to watch us play and it almost had a Rucker park feel and had some real great games out there..miss those days :wow::to:

what a beautiful setting. that place should be packed.

MAAANNN....When I was 8, I was hopping on planes, and Greyhounds by myself.

Same as you, I'd wake up in the morning, meet up with my boys, and we'd hop on our bikes and literally ride from city to city.Wouldn't get back home until it was dark outside.

My son is turning 7 two days from now.I wouldn't even let him walk up half a block to the local convenience store.

I couldn't imagine him being 8,9, 10 miles away from home like I used to be:damn:
Seems to me the parents are weak, not the kids

You're right. I'm just now starting to see minority kids play again, but it's at the organized level, and outside of the city also. That's a start I guess but it's not like when I was coming up as a kid just hanging and playing baseball in street clothes and sneakers.
