Im one of the oldass dudes on this site. I watched the tail end of Magic. LBJ is better, LBJ is a more athletic, better scoring Magic. I really cant name anything Magic can do better than LBJ. LBJ surpassed Kobe also.....

And why dont you Laker cats ever consider Kareem in talks of the greatest Laker?

My top 5

MJ
KAREEM
KOBE
MAGIC
BRON

Man stfu...

Yall nyggas quick to annoint any clown on here over hall of famers. Not that Lebron aint top 5, but he aint Magic.
HoF'er? Ok? :heh:

We not talking about a "clown" we talking about one of the greatest ever.

Magic was a player with flaws just like anyone else. That's y'all problem that one these nikkas retire and make the Hall they become unsurpassable gods. Yeah, Magic was a winner but them wins came with some of the worst chokes and meltdowns in NBA history that have already been covered in this thread.

LeBron has already surpassed Magic in accolades, statistics, and this year seasons played. LeBron is clearly a better athlete, shooter, defender, and scorer and has shown Magic-like facilitating. So how is he not Magic? You just said if Bron wins 12 rings he still ain't better than Magic. Man foh.

I'm talking to a nikka that was probably a child when Magic was in his prime. :rudy:

That team was led by 26 year old Rondo though. 17/7/12 with 2.5 steals in playoffs.

Pierce was still an All-Star (19/5/5), KG was a top 3 DPoY candidate, Ray was still the best shooter in the league, 45% from 3 on 5 attempts. They was the best defense in the league. It was a lockout shortened year and they played at a higher victory pace than the '91 Pistons. '91 Lakers fell apart, Scott and Worthy were injured. Let's not do this.

Let's do it. If the Big 3 are led by Rondo then they aren't the Big 3.

They were 35, 36 and 37 years old in their 14th, 17th and 16th season.

Magic was 31 in his 12th year. Worthy was 30 in his 9th year.

Isiah was 30 in his 10th year.
Dumars was 28 in his 6th year.

By no metric can the lakers or pistons be considered old while the Celtics aren't. Both by age and mileage in the league were the Celtics leaders older.

I'm not one of these guys talking about Detroit and L.A. was old though. Mike ended those teams glory years and its the same thing LeBron did with Boston. The only thing I will say is that the Lakers had injuries to Scott and Worthy that possibly affected the outcome of the series, but ultimately it's not even worth arguing over things like that...

They were still the Big 3, the thing is to that point Rajon Rondo had developed as an All-Star level Point Guard himself. Also, in the playoffs Rondo has always been a great performer, he was 26 and in my opinion at that point he had become the heart of the team.

I don't give a fukk about age dog. It's how you play and at that '12 Celtics team core was still playing at a high level and feared in the league...

Rajon Rondo | 12 points, 5 rebounds, 12 assists, 2 steals, All-Star
Paul Pierce | 19 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, All-Star
Kevin Garnett | 16 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, All-NBA Defense Second Team
Ray Allen | 14 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 45% 3PT

They were the number one overall defense in the league as well. Also, when LeBron took them down it was with Bosh suffering from an abdominal strain and Wade having to get his knee drained. It was with his back against the wall on the road and with a performance like this.
