He's right.

100 years ago, Nikka was no more famous of a word than other derogatory words associated with other minorities. We need to stop saying it. Stop calling each other it. Stop using it in music. That way, if someone did use the term, we don't look crazy going def-con on them when we say it 24/7. Us saying it only makes it more of a forbidden fruit for cacs. We stop. Then there's no excuse to say it unless you're a blithering racist.

sorry to break this to you bruh:beli:

Why do white people want to say ****** so bad?

And why are they always crying foul and calling it a double standard? As if black people will feel sympathetic to such a petty racial "inequality."

Get over yourselves.

Because they created it:skip:

Also, white people use the word all the time on the low and in their heads. That's why it comes out with the alcohol or you can see they wanna say it when they get mad.

I know what you're referencing, but they actually stole that, too. :sas2:

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
using the n-word only means
you are not giving your fellow brother/sister the respect society isn't willing to give him/her

and that's all there is to it

:salute:@ some of you brothers stepping out of the Matrix, eschewing the specious arguments and faux-term of endearment ideology (i.e. fukk nikka, ho nikka, bytch nikka, p*ssy nikka, p*ssy ass nikka, et al) . I used the word everyday until about 5 years ago when I realized the mental gymnastics I was jumping through to justify my use of the word. It took a lot of effort, but I completely removed it from my vocabulary. It can be done @JayGatsby. I'm a sociologist by trade. We are such an interesting people. We have a great deal of collective self-esteem. I can back this up with data from the GSS. However, we don't even have enough respect for ourselves and our brothers and sisters to not want to be called a vile pejorative or label them as such. Before we can build and do all these other lofty things people talk about doing in our communities, we first have to have a basic and fundamental amount of respect for each other. And we have a long, long, long ways to go on that front.

It's true though. They need to embrace it and take all the "power" out of it or stop using it all together. Then they can't use the crutch of oh well blacks call themselves nigggers everyday. It's that simple.

This speaks the problem with our endless and thoroughly misguided fight for justice. We were born free. White people choose not to recognize that freedom because they refuse to acknowledge our humanity. It is not our job to end racism and that is my current problem with many "leaders" in the Black community. Ending racism isn't our responsibility. Rights are not meant to be won or received. They are what we, human beings first and foremost, are endowed with at birth. So when whites say shyt like:

Well, if you'd just stop the violence in your neighborhood, we wouldn't arrest you at disproportionate rates.

Well, if you'd just stop being lazy and collecting welfare, you'd have jobs.

Well, if you'd just stop saying that word, we'll stop calling you a ******.

The onus is always on Black people for whites to stop being evil pieces of shyt.

I agree with him. (note: I'm NOT black, before someone asks. I fully assume someone is gonna say I'm not entitled to an opinion on the topic because of such, because that's Coli logic for you.)

This whole notion that black people flipped the script and took ownership of the word is bullshyt. If anything, it's led to the n-word transitioning from being a word that white racists used to use, to a word that only blacks used, to now, a word that isn't even associated with a specific race using it, but rather it goes hand and hand with "hip hop" (don't even get me started on just how destructive hip hop has been for minorities and the impoverished). It's not a "black" word anymore, it's a "hip hop" word. Which was fine before, because the large majority of hip hop fans WERE black people. But now, hip hop has been suburbanized and you can hear Migos being played in Beverly Hills and The Hamptons. This has allowed the word to gain some kind of social acceptance because people feel entitled to use it because their favorite rappers use it. Like dude said, I know latinos that use it more than blacks- and it's because they're from the "hood" and came up on hip hop, so they feel like they have a green light. shyt, I know black people that give them passes to use it BECAUSE of that same "justification". I know PLENTY of white people who were born with a silver spoon who use it too.

Why a black person would want to use the word is crazy to me. I don't actually think most WANT to use it, I think it's just so ingrained in them that they can't imagine NOT using it, so they roll with the "No crackas are gonna tell me what I can and can't say. We took the word back and use it as a term of endearment now." The concept is just so damn backwards to me. I can't imagine Jews WANTING to call each other kyke's. Or Asians being adamant that they should be allowed to call each other chinks. It all sounds stupid as hell.

Can anyone enlighten me on just what good comes from ANYONE using a word with the historical significance that it has? Who benefits from anyone saying that word? It causes more harm than good, regardless of who uses it.
