People are saying stupid stuff. Lebron and Durant would draw fouls just fine in Scottie's time. They called fouls at a similar, if not higher rate, than they did now but they were more lenient on hard fouls and the like.

Mid-range game isn't dead, it's just realized that it's by far the most inefficient shot in basketball and the players are do athletic and the spacing is so good that it's not as viable as it used to be. It's why Lebron is crapping on people with his efficiency because he's do good at the best shots in basketball.
