that depends on a lot of things, and there aren't five potential NBA faces of a franchise in this draft whereas in this example, you have Aldridge at least, so if you have a top 5 pick, you definitely consider it.

tre...
this is not the NFL
this is not MLB
the NBA is a star league & star players make all the differences

LA & klove just arent household names to trade for this yr potential
all u heard from the off season was many teams were banking on tanking
the celtics, the sixers, the suns, the bucks etc...etc...

guess we agree to disagree

Again, Wiggins, Parker, and MAYBE Randle aside, who are you even trying to guess is gonna give the type of star power out of the gate that you're assuming? Just because everyone is tanking doesn't mean they're all getting a top 3 pick and just because people love this lottery doesn't mean they'll take anything in the lottery over 2 bonafide all-stars, one of them in Aldridge who is currently leading Portland to a 9-2 record.

If you don't get a top 3 pick (and Randle's immediate star power is very debatable. Talent he has a lot of, star power, let's hold off), why would you sit there and think that you can get better play and /or more star power out of what's left in the lottery, let alone the draft, than 2 all-stars? That's retarded thinking.

:snoop:

its NOT retarded thinking
its the lottery
(like they say 'u gotta be in it ---- to win it')

a decade & a half ago the celtics was banking on mr duncan -and they lost
image if they decided to trade their lottery at the trading deadline for an all-star caliber / top 15-25 current player / whom was in his prime

ei... alzono mourning
and lets say zo gave them (6 additional all-star appearances 3 as a starter / winning the atlantic division 4x's / every year in the playoffs and never losing in the 1st round & lets even say took them to the eastern conferences finals 1 time -all for an span of 8 very good years)
YET
tim duncan produced the same career he has

do u really think celtics fans could actually live with the fact
that they gave up on the potential opportunity to have the greatest PF of all time
for 8 very good years

:comeon: tre u know better

The D (where it's so cold)
i dont think its gone work with drummond, smith, monroe

drummond gone be the best outta all of em so he gotta start this year

i think we should take monroe, he good but he turning into a euro wit all dese damn jumpshots...still a beast in the paint tho

he a 18 10 player right now plus he young but i rather keep Drummond/Smith honestly

what yall think his value is?

I don't really have a problem with Greg taking more jumpshots, even Roy Hibbert is putting up more jumpers on the low. Monroe can be a more defensive oriented Pau Gasol if he works on his 15 footer.

On his trade value, Greg is something of a borderline All Star so it seems likely they would trade him for someone of equal talent like a Harrison Barnes or Chandler Parsons, someone along those lines of potential talent.

yeah he's not on Gasol's level on D, BUT he's showed more intensity since Drummond has been on board, especially this year. A couple times I had him confused with Dre on quick glance thinking it was him that blocked a shot when it was Moose.

I'm not talking about the deadline fool. I'm taking about when the picks are established. Clearly something like this wouldn't happen now for either Love, Aldridge or even Monroe because those guys aren't available.

that scenario can never exist
...smartenupnas...
trade deadline in month & a half before season end (march)
the lottery selection is done during the 1st round of playoffs (end of april)
da draft is weeks after the finals (end of june)
and free agency & trades weeks after the draft (july)
