If I'm gonna get a powerful dog, I'd get a rottweiler.
Beautiful dogs, powerful and loyal, and the chances of it killing me or my children is far less than a pit. Only problem with them is that they age fast.
Pitbulls are dangerous and should be treated the same as owning a Bob cat or any other exotic animal that could potentially cause serious harm or death.

95% of the people who own pits shouldn’t. At its core it’s a fighting animal. Highly intelligent and very stable when properly bred, more so than most breeds. But it’s still a fighting animal, and most people dont have a properly bred apbt that comes from stock that’s been tested and wouldn’t know how to handle one if they did.
People who leave those or most any dogs around small children and haven’t had any incidents are just stupid and lucky. I hear about people taking their “pits” to dog parks and I just shake my head.
