I swear baseball has the quickest offseason.

Seems like they get about 2 weeks off

Most players played their last MLB game around October 1st or so.

So that's all of October, November, December, January, and 2 weeks into February before they report.
There's more baseball (AFL, Caribbean Leagues, etc) but that's a pretty good break.

I think it has something to do with the weather.

Winter days go by faster to me.

Your farm system is underwhelming to say the least.

And your manager is a borderline retard...which is saying something given that he's a catcher -- one of the smartest positions in the game.

It's going to suck for the next few years in St. Louis.
Your only saving grace is that maybe financial constraints break up the Pirates sooner than later.

Yeah Taveras dying did hurt

But once our pitching staff stays healthy and does what they should then we'll be byke to where we should

The question is whether Mookie Betts will reproduce like he did last year.

I don't think he will, but I think he can be productive. There's a big difference between a .900 OPS bat in the lineup and an .800

Just 3 regulars slugged .500 or better last season for Boston:
Betts
Ortiz
and Hanley Ramirez

The big key to your offensive season lies with Bogaerts.

Sandoval should be a boost to our lineup this year, he looks to be in great shape from all the recent pictures and Shaw was borderline useless down the stretch last year, I got the Sox taking the East at least

I forgot about him.
He's a major X-factor, just because I think if he's right...he's capable of making great, consistent contact. He's a guy who could feast just bouncing balls off the monster.
