Obama was a ceremonial symbolic black president
Here is the thing man. You can go back to under bush and clinton and West said the same shyt. Unlike a lot of these black intellectuals he did not change his toon once Obama got in office.
Many if not all of the black intellectuals who were anti government suddenly changed their toon once Obama got in office.
Now if you think West was bitter cause Obama threw him in the trash true. But we all knew that many folks that changed their toon once obama was in office would suddenly be militant again once a obama was back out of office.
Finally a few kats were also bitter with obama such as Rev Wright cause Obama threw them in the trash when it came to getting put on.
And that is why you had the comment that obama was nothing more than a politician and would do what was best for him and the folks that backed him.
So in the end I had no issue with West or Tavis saying what they said. Or Obama using them and throwing them in the trash when he was done with them.

You can dislike Cornel West and think he's bitter but there is not much you can dispute in this piece.
Obama's saving grace is that he followed a President that brought us to the brink of economic collapse and had conversations with Jesus and is being followed by an egomaniacal conman who is not even able to conduct a press conference.
