Ngl, this is why shyt like them crazy purges during Maoist China goes down. Some regimes would prefer you just liquidate anyone stupid enough or out of lock step enough to fukk up the program.

Yeah it's definitely annoying. I saw the intial safety report. The controller gave the first traffic call 6 miles away and PAT had it in sight and said he's maintaining visual. He followed up and gave another traffic call when they got closer and that's the one the news keep playing but again PAT had it in sight too. I've been irritated listening to folks trying to explain what happened or what could have been done better that don't have any ATC experience at all. I'm sure a majority of these people thought we were the guys outside with the cones until two days ago. Not to mention the conspiracies people are throwing out on top of it.They shouldn’t have been.. because ATC specified to PAT “Traffic south of the bridge, 1200, on approach for RWY 33” and PAT said “Traffic in sight request Visual separation”
That PAT helicopter is deeply familiar with the landmarks around the airport. They know what “south of the bridge” means, and they know that “1200 on approach” doesn’t mean that the plane their looking for is on the ground
Kinda irritating when I listen to people in the media that are supposed to be experts not go over the entire conversation. They seem to just jump to right before impact when ATC again asks if he as the CRJ in sight
Like…. No. A traffic call was already initiated and the pilot was told where to look (by the bridge) and told what that CRJ was doing (an approach to RWY 33)
People are theorizing a vip was on the chopperWhat does this mean?
At my facility there are a ton of hospitals under the final approach and in the vicinity. So there's constant Medivac helicopters flying around just like at DCA. You can't just move a runway or get rid of helicopters. There could be life saving organs for your family or one of your loved ones could be getting transported. This airport needs to reevaluate itself, move the choppers elsewhere
Something has to change, there was almost another collision 24 hours before the accidentAt my facility there are a ton of hospitals under the final approach and in the vicinity. So there's constant Medivac helicopters flying around just like at DCA. You can't just move a runway or get rid of helicopters. There could be life saving organs for your family or one of your loved ones could be getting transported.
And you got cats saying they don’t mean black people when they say DEI
She's basically quoting Trump here, and he gives little to no fukks now about appearances.Completely fukking dumb. I imagine Trump going to fire her ass sooner than later.
1000%Yeah it's definitely annoying. I saw the intial safety report. The controller gave the first traffic call 6 miles away and PAT had it in sight and said he's maintaining visual. Like, some high-ranking general?People are theorizing a vip was on the chopper
Exact same train of thought. All of the folks here listened to it and said we would have done the same thing especially with the pilot saying he's maintaining visual sep. He actually went above and beyond reissuing the traffic again to get him to say it again. But yeah our job is kinda hard to explain to people on a basic level. It's layer upon layers of rules and that before you even get to facility specific SOPs and LOAs. The biggest thing that I get people to understand is that the helicopter pilot stated that he saw the plane and was maintaining visual sep. The onus was on him to climb of descend. Hell he's a helicopter he could have even covered in place until they crossed. But he didn't1000%
It’s extremely irritating having to listen to read things by people that seem to not even know the very basics of aviation
I stand behind the controller. If I’m told TWICE that the PAT had an aircraft in sight and requesting visual sep than I’m typically moving on to something else.
I think people like me and you can sort of Monday morning QB the situation, and maybe what we would have done differently in that situation, but not random people who don’t know the first thing about talking to a plane.
