GOAT.

The depth in this game is truly unmatched. Street Fighter 6 almost feels like it’s on rails in comparison—not to knock it, because I actually really enjoy SF6. But playing Third Strike sharpens you as a SF6 player. The level of execution it demands, plus the parry system forces you to really understand your matchups.

And there’s honestly no better feeling than parrying in 3S—you can see the fear in your opponent as they second-guess every approach in neutral.

If you haven’t touched it in a while, this is your sign to jump back in. Third Strike is one of those games that’ll be played forever.

3rd Strike is underrated. It was undervalued by a ton after so many were used to the Street Fighter 2 formula, but Fighting Game Tournament were popularized by 3rd Strike because it was no longer just about Punches and Kicks, but actual Defense and Hitboxes.
3s isn't underrated, it just didn't sell as well at the time. 3s is brought up constantly in great fighting game discussions. Hell, they still bust it out for EVO.

I definitely agree that for its time it was undervalued. I think mainly because of the cast. It really took a lot of risk not including most of the sf2 characters so I think at the time when it was out people wasn’t really appreciating it for what it was.

Why do so many SF6 cabinets look like shyt btw? It's gorgeous in Anniversary collection, but whenever I find a cabinet it's super washed out and yellow looking visually...like they came with shytty screens or something

Honestly they’re like 25 years old now, those candy cabs are hella old and unless the owners really kept up with maintenance they’re gonna look like shyt. I’ve seen abit of both tho, I’ve seen some beautiful cabs lately around Los Angeles. This dude I know named Don, lives in LA has like 10-15 beautifully maintained candy cabs in his garage and has 3S playing on most of them. Some has CV2 & MVC2 but every Friday night he opens it up to the public for $10 for the whole night and it be packed in there :wow:

Yeah I was gonna say 3S is one of the mothers of fighting games and probably beats out others in the group with it like Tekken 3, MVC2 etc for greatest ever. Nothing about it is underrated the fact it's still played speaks for itself
