This isnt stan war shyt. I dont care about that shyt anymore. I'm just trying to keep it a buck. Realistically if you want to give lebron so much credit for making it to the finals, you have to ding him for losing so much in the finals as well. Especially when you factor in the majority of the real superstars played in the west during his dominance. I'm just asking for a fair evaluation. You name the top 10 players in the league for lebrons finals run and each year 7 to 9 of them were in the west. And basketball is a superstar dominant game. What lebron did is impressive for sure, but to be fair to the other competitors in the game past and present, context needs to be added cause it's not as cut and dry as some fans act

Fax. It’s not stan war shyt to recognize the fact Bron was going thru playoff runs against no 50 win teams in the East. The Magic comparison other posters made is legit. No one really praises Magic for his western conf playoff success because the west was weak

He took the heat in 84 and people moved on. Y'all still talking about 2011 and/or acting like he was going to win 2015 with Delavedova as his 2nd best player. And most of the vitriol towards Bron is not about him vs Jordan.

read my post again I clearly said in the social media it would’ve been worst. People moved on 1) because it was 1984. 2) no one ever said Magic was better than MJ or even Kobe. If there would’ve been a media push to call Magic better than Mike back in those days, 84 would’ve been brought up more.

another reason is because Magic ended up 5-4 in the Finals so even though he choked on year he still came out on top.

Of course it's a thing...its supposed to be a thing for every superstar. It's actually what seperates the best of the best for me. A lot of things can be debated and are a matter of opinion. One thing that can't and is not is that Bron has been a monster in the playoffs. The fact that people can rattle off his few less than shining moments or hold him accountable to for losses to clearly superior teams (obviously 2011 is a glaring exception) just goes to show how good THEY think he is. I remember after the Warriors comeback, you had people saying "He should do that every night". I thought it was hate then but I have come to realize it is truly the highest form of flaterry. Dudes really think this guy is superhuman and the GOAT and thusly hold him to such standards...far beyond anyone else.

And led BOTH teams in scoring while being double teamed almost the entire game.
Second leading rebounder for BOTH teams by a large margin with 15rbs behind Pau's 18
Took the assignment of defending Rondo, chasing the goddamn league leader in assists point guard around the whole game.
Still the most defended Finals series and game in the last 15yrs for both teams.

Yeah, its crazy he finished with 24/15/2stl. He shouldnt have had 12pts considering he was double teamed by the best defensive in the NBA. Its not like he had, 8pts in a Finals game being left wide open.

:hhh:
Don’t even respond to that 6-24 shyt. TD shot like crap the entire 05 Finals and he always got a pass for it. Bron was 9-24 in game 7. Like I said h The 6-24 was debunked and it was Bill Simmons who was obsessed with it for years. Kobe should’ve never been the bigger man with those media dorks:russ:

Nobody uses it to pump up Magic's legacy either. People mention his 5 rings and his remarkable play. Nobody ever uses it to claim he's better than more accomplished players like Jordan.

Bron stans are the ones trying to use finals appearances to boost LeBron above more accomplished players rather than simply going with his 3 rings.

Because there's plenty of players with more than 3 rings :russ:

Let lebron get 5 or 6 rings, them rings definitely gon get brought up

He’s held to the same standards as the guys he’s compared to.

Loses entirely too much for Playoff Lebron to be a moniker imo. He does step up in comparison to players like harden or westbrook, even Giannis at this point. But nah.

Jerry West and his 1 and 8 Finals record is still to this day known as Mr. Clutch. Who looses rarely enough to qualify for such a title? Winning and losing is the only way to measure whether a person turned up on the playoffs or not?

Plenty of people have Magic over Kobe and Kobe wasn't a thing yet to compare the two. And outside of 2011 every GOAT level player would've lost every Finals LeBron lost.

He’s held to the same standards as the guys he’s compared to.
No he isn't.

NBA players really don’t care all that much and respect everyone’s greatness. They ain’t pitting one player against another :hubie:

They used to always go to bat for Kobe. Only reason Kobe got back into the GOAT debate is cause the players kept bringing him up unprompted. See Stephen Jackson, Allen Iverson, Shaq, Vince Carter, T-Mac, etc.

That’s because this forum probably has the most rabid Kobe stan base on the internet. Like Swag’s dumb ass for example. Realgm, Twitter, Insidehoops, and Reddit have been mostly Jordan and Lebron stans going at it since that time period.

That's cause its mostly cacs on reddit and realgm. There is a racial difference when it comes to fan bases. Kobe stans are predominantly black as evidenced by how many pro athletes worship him while Bron's fanbase is predominantly white as evidenced by his media stans. If you noticed Kobe has no stans in the media. His fanbase is more organic and from the people.
