Isn't the functionality Sony testing very similar?

Personally, I don't care and find it useful if getting targeted deals. I bought some games with a good discount because of tailored deal based on preferences.

From what i can tell, the discounts are advertised on xbox. Discounted games are advertised as a perk for subscribing to gamepass.

Seems on playstation the criteria for having access to these discounts isn’t being published.

They just send them out as they see fit.

I’m waiting for the games to go on sale regardless. Only games I buy full price are Spider Man, Wolverine, GTA, and WWE games when bring back cross platform CC.
