Do you know the type of meal you could whip up with $25? That's a London Broil...some veggies...brown rice...some Tiger Shrimp on the side if you fancy...probably got grub for the night and the next day for lunch too.

What does financial status have to do with tipping though? Do poor people not have the right to eat out if they can't give some douchebag server a 30% tip?

I've heard stories about how black people are looked at by wait staff, how they are called Mondays and all that because nobody likes Mondays...half these fakkit ass servers should be grateful they are even getting a paycheck to begin with, because they wouldn't be able to hold a job anywhere else with their me me me attitudes.

I'm actually glad most people don't tip well, and I'll tell you why. When I go to a bar, and say my first round is $11, I'll leave the bartender a $20 and tell him to keep the change. He appreciates that because it's not the norm, and returns the favor by not only serving me quicker than the other patrons, but I'll typically get free drinks and shots throughout the night, the value of which well exceeds the $9 I gave him to begin with. So it's a win-win.

With restaurants, I always tip 20% even though I'm not likely to ever see a returned benefit from it because I used to be a server and know what that grind is like. I've had 10+ jobs, including now running my own law firm, and serving is still the hardest, most hectic job I've ever had.

And @R.E.N. Spells Ren , It works in other countries BECAUSE of the very fact that they are salaried like every other job there. If it was like that here, the dining experience would be more expensive.

The worst thing about working in a restaurant were how black tables were stereotyped as soon as they walked in the door, no matter how they looked or acted. Non-black waiters and c00ns said slick stuff all of the time (asking the host to sit them "good" tables or "certain waiters do better with certain people [of the same skin color]"). You had ghetto servers who had the nerve to stereotype black people, knowing that if they walked into a restaurant they would be stereotyped the exact same way. After I left that job I stopped dining out almost completely - only when I'm out with family. I'd rather do my own grocery shopping and cooking before a waiter gets 20% or even 10% from me.

Actually the server does have an incentive. Its called doing their job. i dont know why you waiters act like yall own the restaurants. You think the manager hired you to give bad service? Your job is to give every paying customer good service and not hurt the brand of the reataurant. Failing to do so and having many customers complaining will have your non skilled ass in the unemployment line.

I didn't want to make this a thread, but I feel like I should look out for you Coli nikkas. Tip your waiters. You aint go outta your way to drop $20 tips everytime, but tip them sort of well. At least 10%. Don't be the guy that goes back to the same restaurants and leaves a cheap tip over and over again. Because waiters communicate, and give eachother subtle looks when you arrive.

I'm telling you I was a waiter when I was 17, and that shyt is like a gang B. It's like a network. nikkas communicate and talk about the fukkboy customers to look out for. Then we would act accordingly.

Be one of those nikkas who makes waiters go back and forth over and over again, changing their minds, and then on top of that leaves a 1 dollar tip.

Be one of the " I think I need to talk to your manager" guys. Because the others waiters will find out.

I'm telling you because I've personally done it. Typical suited up, hair gelled, Wall St Cac used to come and leave 75 cent tips after taking a stack of cash and looking for a dollar bill, and when he couldnt find one he'd throw 3 quarters on the table and used to smile and laugh about it in my face like it was a joke While being a needy fukk, and whipping out hundreds right infront of my face.

I made sure I got a good swipe of my balls, from the crease going down toward my ass, all the way up the head of my dikk. And then super low-key, placed a palm right on his burgers, and put my finger right inside of his ketchup holder.

Then waited for him to eat it

EVERYTIME HE CAME IN , and always asked him how his burger was

See then, the 75c tip and the laugh in the face is worth it.

Don't fukk with waiters man. Tip them dudes well. nikkas used to have bets to see who could do the nastiest shyt to a Cac without getting caught.

This is the biggest bunch of bull I've read. Maybe because I'm black but i've pretty much never gotten free drinks (at the club, restaurant, bar) by doing the whole tip 20-50 up front.

More likey to happen in a fast food or other cheap joint. A 5 star establishment or high end eatery has pricey food and a chain of people so less chance of bullshyt. Its the savages hanging around your table wating for loose change out your pocket that will tamper with your food, and I always assume a cac server will piss in my meal anyway. Tipping is seen as undignified in some places, cause it is begging for welfare in a sense..the finer places dont want their customers feeling uncomfortable by them having to take pity on the starving help, tossing them some change. I was hoping that fast food workers strike would rectify the laws and these grey areas. And I dont know how Id react if I caught someone tampering with my food.

How and why are we suppose to tip when you receive bad service?

When I go to eat out, some waiters see me and give me bad service. Yes, I am a 6 ft black man; so in the back of their heads I know there thinking "this black motherfukker is not going to tip me anyways; why should I give him good service." There have been times where I received shytty service and still gave them a excellent tip and I did not get a thank you or anything.

There are times when I take my mom out to eat, the waiter gives the check to my mom; like I'm some broke ass bytch and I pay for the meal/tip and I still do get a thank you or a smile.

Another time me and my boys went to watch the bcs championship game and we had this waiter and he gave us shytty service; but next to us were some white men and he gave them better service. The white men knew the mexican waiter was doing that on purpose because the white boys would look at our table and the would put there heads down and not look at us. Then my homie asked for some mustard and the clown came and slammed the shyt on the table and the other customers looked with a confused face because we were acting cordial. I really wanted to wait after the mexican got off of work and wanted to beat the shyt out of him; but my boy went to the manager and said "we are getting bad service and that happens all the time because of the way we look and we do not appreciate that and we are not leaving a tip."

I can relate to this post but the bolded has happened to me even as she was approaching the table with the bill and I had my hand out she still handed to my mother
