One of the things she was bytching about in the thread was that 3 of her tenants have experience and told her they'll handle all the repairs in the building themselves for the duration, so she doesn't have that to leverage over them.

I don't know the law but I doubt she can legally shut off the common area lights/water, there gotta be safety code violations in that.

I'm guessing from how she talks she probably ain't spending shyt on security and pest control anyway.

Its definitely situational depending on the type of landlord you’re dealing with. Will be interesting to see who gets left holding the bag at the end of this.

My girl’s apartment has very little maintenance and the pool and fitness facilities are now closed. The main office gone home too. She’s gonna pay hers but if the building gets to next week and sees payments missing, it’s on them for not being proactive. I mean, ideally it will escalate all the way to the top of the food chain and the ones at the very top will eat that L. That's a best-case scenario seeing as they're the ones whose livelihood will be almost entirely unaffected.

Many of you in this thread would rather that the poorest people on the bottom eat the L through shyt that was no fault of their own. Why you prefer the people on the bottom to take the L rather than the ones on the top is perplexing to me.

For one, you didn’t specify the book, chapter or verses.

Two, this passage is more relevant to developers who buy land/homes & will allow them to remain empty for years on end, just because their idea of rent has grossly surpassed what the market can bare. This does not sound like your independent landlord or even small group of investors.

Thirdly, God doesn’t have an issue with men being rich at all. He has a problem with laziness & theft...but not wealth. If He did, how can one explain his love for King David & Job?
