i really think we need to ban guns. too many lives are being ended early because of it. yea, people want guns for protection and hunting. but how many people are actually using it for these reasons? i would feel safer if guns were just banned completely.

It's awful news. Awful for the parents, children, and community.

I know most of you hate cops here, but this kind of news makes the work tough. Who do you think has to do the crime scene investigation? Cops. Do you know how tough it is to see children shot up from a shooting? Cops, medical examiner/coroner, and EMTs have to see it all. I was fortunate not to see anything this awful. Yeah, I had to respond to a homie who got shot in an apartment complex playground in broad daylight. Dude was just frozen on the ground with his eyes open. Tore up his cousin who showed at the crime scene. I know he want to give him one last hug or something but it was too late for that.

That's true, however in countries without guns you don't hear about these kinds of killing sprees as frequently as you do in the US. We have them pretty much every 6 months, a mass murder because some psycho has easy access to a .50 Light machine gun.

Not to agree with the poster but they had to know their kid was fukked in the head. We don't know yet but they may have ignored certain behaviors.

Valid point, but I feel that wanting that severe of a punishment for family members who were privy to a relative's mental weaknesses is extreme.

Especially given the fact that at this current point, we have no info about the shooter and his history and stuff like that. If the family members knew he was about to do this shyt, and was aware of the plot and all that, then it's a different story. There's a bevy of people in this country with mental deficiencies and it would be far too tough to just box them up in hopes of deterring these types of events from happening.

Very unfortunate set of circumstances though.
