Rhea Seehorn has stated that the storyline for her new
Apple TV+ show,
Pluribus, becomes increasingly bizarre and features "stranger things to grapple with" as the season progresses. She even mentioned that she, as the actor, often had "no idea what's going on" while filming the series, which helped her performance as a character who is equally confused by the unfolding events.
The new series, from
Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, focuses on Seehorn's character, Carol Sturka, a cynical romance novelist who is the only person seemingly immune to a mysterious event that turns the rest of the world into a happy hive mind. The show's premise is described as a high-concept, unique sci-fi tale that blends genres and sacrifices forward momentum for unpredictability, rewarding viewers who stick around for its elasticity and unexpected twists.
Seehorn noted that Gilligan loves to take the audience on a "rollercoaster ride" and that the show avoids obvious tropes, instead delving into more "nuanced, smarter" challenges.
