I feel you but a I think a better season finale would have been “mask off” moment for the hive being evil. I mean they can do it next season but the frozen egg discovery would have been better for a penultimate episode. Then end it with showing how little it thinks of a human life.

Pull a Tuco and let people begin to realize how big of a threat the Hive really is.

Yea, you’re right. They soft launched it with Carol’s heartbreak realization but they’re still playing the middle.

The scene with breh trying to get the phone out of the sewer - the annoying tediousness of it all - that's how the whole season was to me.

They built all this tension for something that I as a viewer KNEW would be unsatisfying.

My recap

• I don't know about the premise
• The story seems kinda weak.
• Rhea is a great actress and totally unlikable, which is the point.
• I'm not going to lie, the LGBT stuff seems tacked on.

But most of all the pacing sucks. I loved Better Call Saul. But the slow burn here is just not working

This isn't quite Invasion level, but I probably won't be watching next season.

The other thing about this show - that first season of Breaking Bad - did it have this much positive press and manufactured attempts to create engagement? I get part of the hype machine are behind the episode/podcasts and attempts to use social media to build up the show - but this seems so unearned to me. So inauthentic. The fact that it's on a lot of top ten lists for 2025, before the finale got me wondering if Apple is trying to "make" this show...

Even The fan boy influencers seem to be really trying to defend the show more than actually praise it.

If this gets cancelled before it finishes, I'm good with that

The social media we have now wasn’t the social media we had during Breaking Bad season 1. And a lot of critique we see today is just contrarianism. If this show was universally beloved, you’d see a lot more critics knocking it a peg. But because people seem to be so lukewarm, they are going to take the opposite stance to set themselves apart. It is what it is.

The atom bomb is no a big threat for the Hive, it's just a an inconvenience. They have literally the whole planet for themselves, they just have to make the calculations as to where not to come close and they'll be fine which is why Carol has it, so she can make sure the Hive wont come near her. It makes no sense for the Hive to sacrifice itself and suffer in the millions just to turn 1 human.
