I think it's rude. I won't answer if I don't want to be bothered and I might be sitting in front of an open window watching you ring the doorbell.

:camby:

should have called

Day pop ups are debatable because you always expect it,its not right but you expect it. At my old crib I had someone I knew pop up on me at night just to tell me someone died, person parked right in my driveway and everything :damn: .I dont have many pet peeves but random pop ups will get you cut off.

My brother, eldest sister and her family, and mother all live 15-20 minutes away from us. They'll usually give a 5 - 10 minute heads up and we're cool with that. Sometimes they'll come over before we get back and we'll remotely unlock the door for them. My wife is the "you're always welcome here" type when it comes to family/close friends and she's genuine about that.

Regular friends need to give some notice though, I'm not a fan of "I was just in the area" visits. Most of our friends know better, but it gets trickier with neighbors (we're actually friends with a few of them).

nah I prefer a call/text in advance and I’m petty enough that I’ll leave you out on the doorstep ringing the bell yelling “I know you’re inside, your car is in the driveway!” so fukking what? :yeshrug:

nope but I live out where most people don't want to be bothered driving to

goes both ways though, I always call before going to anyone's place. even when I had a gf I wouldn't just pop over (we had keys to each others' places too) she always called before coming over :yeshrug:
