So he responded with Sex and Violence
I was always told by people in the circle that he dropped Sex & Violence as sarcasm. It was like, this is what the industry wants? Ok I'mma give to them, but sarcastically, as obviously he was opposed to that lol. I think label people even were pressuring these kind of artists to make gangsta rap and bytches records etc. So this album was like a sarcastic defiance of that conceptually. But like you said, KRS always had those 2 sides to him, like wanting peace but being ready for war.


Dude was def conflicted....made a song with REM, but pushed PM Dawn off the stage around the same time![]()
PM Dawn made some comments about KRS, Chuck D and N.W.A I think and that's what sparked that.

Yeah, PM Dawn was like "he calls himself the teacher, what is he teaching?"![]()
