Sign of the timesFunny how pure album sales really don’t count for shyt nowadays.
Migos outsold Polo G in pure album sales but Polo out “streamed” them
Sounds crazy but Migos audience is “older” so they’re more likely to buy a physical.I’m 21Polo is huge with young people. Is anyone here under 21?
It’s not really odd at allKinda odd how other genres have no problem still moving physical units. For rap it's like, 75-90% stream vs 10-25% physical.

It’s not really odd at all
Off brand old heads do not buy hiphop and kids parents do not buy hiphop for their kidsIt’s not really odd at all
That’s mostly not physical but digital copies. And often they include posters or other merch, which is why kids want it.Don't see how it's not.
Rap seems to be the only genre where fans don't care about owning a physical copy.
Age has nothing to do with it either, Olivia Rodrigo is younger than every rapper on the list and her demographic is mostly teens.
Yet she still moved far more physical copies than any rapper. Hell, Twice is 22-25 and damn near half their copies were physical.
So yeah....it's weird.

I'm assuming you're a fan. Did you like TLOP5?I wonder what Pierre going to sell with his cult base
That’s not physical it’s a digital copy.
TWICE’s ‘Taste of Love’ was the top-selling album of the past week, with 43,000 in traditional album sales, a majority of which were physical copies.
It’s mostly digital sales when it comes to “pure sales” in this case it was merch + cd. I just did a quick Google. No, it's not:
TWICE score first Billboard 200 top 10 entry with 'Taste Of Love'
So....yeah. Pop group geared towards teenagers did damn near the entirety of their sales on physical. A rap group or solo artist would never do that in 2021.
