I was watching a t-pain stream a while ago he alluded the switch to friday release dates help as well. It used to be when you released something on Tuesday your first week would only count Tues-Fri. Now it's Fri-Thu.

Thanks that's helpful.

T Pain actually drops legit knowledge from what I've seen.

I wonder how much Sony is spending to get this record played it's nothing special or maybe I'm just:flabbynsick:

I checked it and I'm not super impressed.

Too much singing and it's not hip hop to me.

What are they trying to market as Hip Hop?

My Hip Hop is Tim Dog!

This.

There's been like 8 #1 hits so far this year and we're barely into 4 months. Not to mention the whole Nicki/69 thing exposed how fake these numbers are.

Fred.
It means that you song is currently the most played song in the country as it has always done, unlike back in the days it is people who click on the song to play it (albeit skewed since labels also have impact over a lot of playlists). Back in the day it was straight payola that controlled the HOT100 and the fact that it was hard to play rap music on commercial channels also limited the chances of niche genres like rap, punk or metal making it to #1.

shyt moves faster today, what's to say that 8 #1 songs is less right than if it was 1 #1 for 4 months because that's how it might've been in the technology stone age.

I don't know why old heads always feel the need to compare the differences between a chart - that always changed with the way we consume music - to how it was when they were kids. shyt's different, still measures the underlying same thing. The song that's most played in the united states either by sales, radio or any other medium that generates money for the owner of the music.

Group think + the youth will push anything they feel like pushing. That much I DO know.

I've never SEEN this song until this thread popped up.

I listened to his album last year because I've seen so many people big him up. Like Rod Wave, I don't see the science. Paint by the numbers production and soundscape. Hip Hop has ten thousand producers but very few with an interesting sound or real musicianship.

I guess I do like him, just not the music yet. All the music is too one-note rooted in trauma. Now that I'm in my 30s I can't put myself through that shyt. Back then, artists could still be artists and have fun.

I STILL aint heard the song yet... Popular as its supposed to be, i should have naturally heard it by now, and i refuse to look it up. Ima see how long i will go without hearing it.

And for it to be number 1, it better be a raw ass song.

Again, Nicki/69 fans were on social media straight up spelling out how to fake streams. Which is how "Trollz" hit #1. I linked all that shyt in the original thread, before it hit #1.

I don't know what all the other shyt you're talking about has to do with that. #1 songs in 2021 is meaningless. shyt is worse than the payola days because literally anyone can fukk with the numbers, as long as they have an internet connection.

Just cause 1000 people globally are on social media dikkriding each other doesn’t mean that you will reach 10 million streams per day :mjlol:
And Six9 had multiple top 10 hits before that, Nicki had multiple too. Dude had platinum threads on the coli, was on every blog, newspaper, his IG was blowing up and you think that it’s a conspiracy that people wanted to hear his first song after the most legendary snitching incident ever:mjgrin:

And even if there was an nano gram of truth to what you’re saying id rather see a dedicated fan base come together and stream the hell out of something than some faceless label exec pressuring radio execs and or delivering bags.

FYI just cause you don’t see how what I’m saying is relevant, doesn’t mean that people in the industry don’t see it. That is - the people that the charts are intended for.

"Trollz" had the biggest drop off for a single in Billboard history because the numbers were obviously faked.

Nicki Minaj and 6ix9ine suffer biggest fall for No 1 single ever

:dead: at "but they had hits before!"

Another :dead: at "I'd rather see fans fake the numbers than a record exec". As if the labels aren't doing the exact same shyt.
Nah, after several decades of payola and other underhanded practices I'm sure labels have no part in faking streams. Just the fans. :gucci::comeon:
