I still don't get what the big deal is with outlawing polygamy. I think the only problem is when it's in these cultish environments where women are underage, exploited, pressured, or beaten into the relationships. If three or more grown adults consent and agree to the relationship then fine. And we can tax them all legally without worrying about welfare fraud.

It should be a slippery slope. There's nothing wrong with legalizing contracts between more than two people. It's not like most of the world didn't already allow polygamous marriages for certain groups before the modern era. The only problem with those was that they were restricted to men marrying multiple women. As long as women can marry multiple men, there's no good argument against it. The government should be open to recognizing contracts between multiple arrangements of individuals.

It would also be a step towards the further secularization of legal marriage, which is another good reason for it.

Seriously though I think you're being an alarmist.

I doubt 12 woman to one man marriages will last long because they're expensive and it would be hard to satisfy all those women sexually and attention wise.

American woman are also richer, more educated, and have more freedoms than plural wives in other countries. So it's not easy to compare.

Plus if you wanna really wanna get real if there was a shortage of women to date in the US men would just start flying the millions of woman across the globe who wanna come here.
