Marriage discourages people from entering or leaving the dating pool because of the legal accountability via finances, healthcare, taxes, etc. since those are services that sheer dating can't guarantee or reinforce.Marriage is a contract with tax breaks and social security benefits involved.
Marriage does not stop anybody from entering or leaving or wallowing in the dating pool. If a man (or woman) can't bank like that, then thems the breaks. That doesn't stop them from fukking and being sociable or even shacking up with somebody who's already married to someone else. Just like now.
The dating world will be fine.
I've got no problem with casually dating as many people as you want (as long as its all consensual and you're not lying to people) but marriage removes the flippancy of casual dating with the legal binding it creates.
Look at gay unions. Imagine one gay dude MARRYING like 10 dudes. Thats 9 dudes who while they can fukk around all they want, but can still not truly ever commit to anyone else and thus effectively removed from the ability to bring that sense of love or presence to another person's union.
gay people get hurt by this too.
This isn't just about love...its about resources.
