Honestly that's what it is. Most people that get higher education and good jobs usually only have 1-2 kids since they're expensive especially if you want to provide them a decent lifestyle. Poorer people generally have more kids. Now back when people were farming it made sense but people literally make kids due to idle time on their hands and lack of long term planning.
