People are acting like the Spurs are not a really good team with great players.

Ginobli made Pop look good in game 5 not the other way around.

Never have I ever seen a NBA coach get this much constant praise for coaching a great team with the the best PF of all time.

Phil never got this type credit.

Spurs are a great team and the heat are a great team.

Danny Green has been a statistical outlier that can not schemed for by pop or Spo ( the 4th option on the team leading team in scoring:wtf:)

How does a person watch a NBA game of and decide the reason for the results was coaching will forever have me :snoop:

Pop is a great coach and he deserves most of the praise he gets, but it's lunacy when people say he's better than Phil.

It's hard to be a bad coach with Tim Duncan.

He's great but, he has had favorable circumstances his entire career.

There is not a lot of variance from the best to the worse coach in the NBA

I KNEW you'd make this thread after we talked about it in that other thread :lolbron:

but to Pop's credit; he's a GREAT coach and deserves a lot of credit. He's not even getting too much credit as it is and I don't think anybody has said "The Spurs are winning mainly because of Pop" :manny:

he decided to put him in the starting lineup right?

:smh:

And Spo decided to put Mike Miller in the lineup for the same reasons and had got criticized for it.

Not because it was a bad move, but because Mike Miller hasn't played well

Coaching isn't just done on game day
:russ:

You actually think Pop is doing anything differently in practice and meeting compared to the other NBA coaches

:russ:
How many coaches have coached a team with the best PF of all time? :leostare:

:beli:

You know what I'm saying

All the winning in this series has went to Pop
:dahell:

hes probably the most celebrated coach in modern sports history

But, people always say anybody could have coached Mike or shaq and Kobe.

No one ever says that with the Spurs

to win more than 1 title in the NBA you have to have all-time greats, just goes with the territory

Pop gets credit from me for a few reasons: flawless matchups/rotations, scouting and prep. Keep in mind he used to be the Spurs GM, then hand picked RC Buford who is probably the best in the NBA at finding role players and lower-paid starters.

they are not this close without Green/Neal/Leonard, and even to a lesser extent Splitter whose a solid C. thats great scouting and coaching in effect
